Its a 60$ buyin rebuy tournament, late reg is over.

I have KK and 3-bet to a MP open.
Opener calls with less chips then me also kind of deep. (Nice guy, kinda tight, got coolered with AA against AK by him)

I am in position.

Flop
K/10/10r

he checks / I check

Turn 8
he bets half pot / I call

River 4
he bets half pot / I shove for all his chips

How would you play the hand? What hands do you give Op?

You don't mention stack sizes. Like what does shoving mean OTR in relation to the pot ?

Otherwise hand seems well played. We have the nuts and it's really unlikely he has anything so I like checking back flop with such a monster. From the way he played he could have anything, Tx,QJ, 8x, airballs.

Nothing wrong here played it just fine with the check on the turn to trap, calling his turn bet another good play unlikely he has much of anything and you can probably get the rest of his stack on the river, not many scare cards can fall. He bets river and you go all in, perfect play with the 2nd nuts. Did he actually have quads lol?

Was jsut wondering if you can just call there or if it is too passiv.

No way you should just call.

You get value from Tx, worse boats, maybe some pairs that just don't believe you like QQ or JJ.

If he had quads, it's a cooler.

this was posted just because you got the **** coolered out of you, shame on you. obv jamming river all day, even fish know this, only Jen Tilly checks top boat and by now even she probably doesn't.

I have some questions.

Do you 3bet "light" or is your 3bet range well defined, even in late position?

What do you do on the flop with for example AQ? Can we ever have hands like T9 here?

Your opponent seems to be aware of typical ranges, etc. I don't think he's going to barrel away, when our range is superstrong on KTT8.

Personally, I prefer a smallish cbet on the flop, say around 30%. Depending on what our opponent calls 3bets with, it puts him in a difficult situation, with for example JJ or KQ and makes our "bluff" cbets cheap. It also defines his hand more and makes decision making easier down the road.

Turn:
Do we ever have AK here? What about 88?
As played, I think his range is more or less AK, TX, eventually QK or 88, depending on what he calls 3bets with. Maybe he also would do this with QQ, if we checkback our misses regularly.

River: His range doesn't really change that much, I'd remove QQ, JJ, those are probably rather check/calling or check/deciding.

If we never 3bet TT, then topboat is the best hand, we can have on the river. As played there is some hands in his range, that might call a shove and go broke. Like Tx or 88. So a shove is a lot better than a call.

Since we are so underreped, I can see some reasons to "just" raise, in order to get value from AK, that might find a fold otherwise, but tbh, I like the shove much better. We also block most of the AK combos, our opponent can have (if he 4bets those, it's even zero).
