Was deep in the $11 on acr with about 150 players left out of almost 3000.

This following hand happened and i had a though spot on the river:

Winning Poker, Hold'em No Limit - 1,600/3,200 (400 ante) - 8 players
Replay this hand on Upswing Poker

UTG: 82,830 (26 bb)
UTG+1 (Hero): 102,899 (32 bb)
MP: 104,615 (33 bb)
MP+1: 91,120 (28 bb)
CO: 204,654 (64 bb)
BU: 66,690 (21 bb)
SB: 57,858 (18 bb)
BB: 145,443 (45 bb)

Pre-Flop: (8,000) Hero is UTG+1 with A A
1 fold, Hero raises to 7,040, 5 players fold, BB calls 3,840

Flop: (18,880) 5 8 7 (2 players)
BB checks, Hero checks

Turn: (18,880) K (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets 13,200, BB raises to 34,400, Hero calls 21,200

River: (87,680) K (2 players)
BB bets 103,603 (all-in), [b]Hero ?

I checked the flopped behind as i thought it would hit BBs range pretty easily.

turn: after a check, i assume i have the best hand and bet and he c/r back which really surprised me but i called.

River: he quickly shipped when the board pairs.

In my opinion, the flush draw missed and he could have flopped 2 pair and been counterfeited on the river. I dont think he has a king there, If i fold I am left with 20bb, which is not ideal but workable.

Whats the play?

Do you have any reads or information on villain? It feels like a weird turn for him to raise as the K is better for our range than his, but there are quite some draws available. However, it doesn't particularly help that we have the A of clubs, as it blocks some flushdraws. Due to this, the correct (balanced) play might be a fold, but in game I am probably too bad to fold. Also reads and gameflow might really weigh in on the decision here imo

Flop check is a disaster. It hits his range more than us but they'll have so many hands that have gutters, single pairs etc that we can extract value from

Check on the flop seems pretty terrible, cause we're missing a lot of value, as played I think you fold river, king hits our range super well and he c/r then pot the river, I don't think he's snap jamming counterfeit two pairs as a bluff, so the only bluffs he has left are 6x and a whole lot of value range.

I think flop check is pretty good, especially deep in a tournament. Villain can put us in a tough spot with a check/raise. Turn sizing is good also, however I think you can fold to turn check/raise. He is not going to check/raise with one pair or a draw on this turn.

I would bet the flop. The fact that it is a good board for his range might be good for you. He can hit it with worse hands or play back at you.

I would 3-bet shove the turn with draws out there and call the river as played.

Your are not deep enough to play pot control with AA. Look to play for stacks.

On the river BB could have trips, a straight, or boat. However, any small 2-pair combination got counterfeited. BB could be shoving counterfeited 2-pair hands as well as missed draws.

Checking back flop is atrocious.

The flop check is understandable, but if you get check shoved on a bet here, there are plenty of semis and pair + gutters that I would be more than happy to stack off with. You’re deep in this tourney, but there’s still plenty to be played, and a double up as a favorite on the flop would put you in serious contention for a final table run.

I’m probably 1/4-1/3 potting flop and jamming any turn that doesn’t bring 4 to a straight.

As played I honestly probably fold. You have plenty of chips to find a better spot.
