In both situations, we hold J8s and we are sitting on the button. It's an unopened pot.

Situation A:
We have 8 BB, both the small blind and the big blind have 30 BB.

Situation B :
We have 30 BB, both the small blind and the big blind have 30 BB.

I used to think that both situations were the same, since 8 BB are in play, but I realize that when playing big stacks I tend to lose it more often than keep it as an advantage.

Couldve lost a hand or been actually card dead (not fish card dead where they miss shove spots lol).

depends on the tournament stage, but if it's still far to the FT then:
A : push
B : try stealing if BB doesn't know that he can call with any two and push on a good flop. Fold otherwise.
