$8, $1,500 prize pool. Hero is 6th out of 63 currently. Hero has 42 BB and average stack is 20.5 BB. All villains in hand have 17-20 BB. 10% ante.

OTTH

Villain UTG limps, hero in CO raises A 9 3 BB and BTN, BB, and limped call.

Flop (13.5 BB): A Q T. X-x-hero bets 7 BB, and it's folded to UTG +1 who shoves for 14 BB total and hero calls.

What would you change?

Pre is nice. I'd check the flop. As played you must call and hate it... Check the flop and re-eval the turn. Hopefully they all check to you again on a blank turn card. Lots of bad turn cards but they let you off the hook too, so embrace the turn here. Another nice thing is this will under rep your hand so if you do get one of the many awesome turn cards your delayed cbet is at the top of your range which is always nice.

Shove pre might be my first choice if everyone is under 20BB deep. Limp is a decent option as well. The 3BB thing doesn't look too great, I think we want to be unbalanced with that and have JJ+ when we do it, you're not winning the pot preflop often at all and postflop is going to be weird and tough everytime, if we're not happy with top pair like in this case the majority of the time when we miss the flop is obviously even worse.

Worst sizing ever to isolate a limper.
Do the math, how many BB has to put BTN, blinds or the limper to see a flop?
Proper sizing has to be around 3bb+ money in the pot (3bb+1bb limp + 1.5bb blinds), then you have FE vs LP and blinds

not sure I like ripping it in from the CO for half our stack effective to iso an UTG limp, but I suppose we just embrace the variance when we get snapped off

as played, I c/decide flop, chances are BTN is shoving for pot on the flop anyways, and A9 isn't beating any value hands and isn't doing great against the portion of his draws in his range

BTN shouldn't have many calls in his range preflop if hes 20BB deep imo (ATs-AJs?), should be 3b/shoving or folding pre, maybe hes just a fish who couldn't lay down A7o, that would be best case scenario and unlikely
