Hello everyone, I would like to get your opinion on this hand I played yesterday!

I recently studied the OOP spots (CO vs BTN) and I noticed that in theory we usually have to check/raise a lot in these spots in order to protect our checking range.

So here I decided to x/r all-in to realise 100% of my equity, but I would like to have your opinion on this line.

Winamax - 250/500 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

Hero (MP): 42.42 BB
CO: 34.5 BB
BTN: 44.12 BB
SB: 41.92 BB
BB: 39.66 BB
UTG: 48.97 BB

6 players post ante of 0.12 BB, SB posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 2.22 BB) Hero has 9 J

fold, Hero raises to 2.09 BB, CO calls 2.09 BB, fold, fold, fold

Flop: (6.4 BB, 2 players) 5 9 8
Hero checks, CO bets 5.31 BB, Hero raises to 40.21 BB and is all-in, CO calls 26.98 BB and is all-in

Turn: (70.98 BB, 2 players) 5

River: (70.98 BB, 2 players) 6

I like the check raise here but I don’t like the all in. You’re too deep for that. Just make it 15-16.

You are still going to be pretty pot committed if you do that, so if he does have a set or two pair it may be tough for you to get away. But your all in let’s him get away when he’s got 66 or A8 or something.

(Edit: looking back, his bet was pretty big so maybe this isn’t the spot for a CR. Maybe just call this one save your CR’s for when villain bets 1/3 or 1/2 pot.)
