CASINO RAKE CASINO RAKE

I recently took a look at the rake in the daily $60 NLHE tournament at Hollywood Park in LA. The casino takes $23 out of every $60. buy-in; however, rebuys are not raked. So, assuming that 2/3 of the players rebuy, it means that the casino rakes $23 per $100 in entries. In addition, they expect the winners to tip. Assuming a 5% tip rate, it amounts to a 28% effective rake. Is there anyone who believes that this can be beaten in the long run?

single rebuy or unlim? add-on?

if everyone on average is in for $120 lets say for arguments sake, then its 97+23 which deffo is on the higher side but 20% rake live is not unheard of, but sometimes in these tournaments the structure is ok.

Whats the structure like, is it bingo or can you actually get some play in? If its bingo it will fairly tough to beat in the long term imo

There is one rebuy/add-on. After that, prior to the first break, you can reenter and start all over. Not everyone rebuys, so I think $100 is closer to the average per person. The levels are 20 min.

I think it depends a lot on the field size. It certainly looks beatable to me if you have e.g. 100 people in it and they are mostly terrible.

Never tip from MTT's, you're just helping the management get away with underpaying them. If anyone complains tell them to ask their boss for a pay rise.
