Early, deep, oop - I'm playing small ball and calling.

If your hand was a little better I'd say rr to iso fish, but now I'd say flat although your hand does play a bit sh*t this way. Well, sh*t.. We flop a pair and are probably good or we fold

But we don't want to be stacking off here as people don't tend to get it in with worse in these stages imo.

even with those laggy, fishy players just call pre? Also the pot pre is about 860 something like 25% of hero stack, and hero is oop otf.

Just a personal preference for the lower variance approach. Not crazy about shoving 85bb with AK so early. But shove or call are both fine. The only move I wouldn't make is a standard 3b.

Because we dont (or i wouldnt) want to play a pot oop with AKo when there is potential to pickup a 25% increase in our stack without seeing a flop. If we miss A or K on the flop we are likely folding to any bet. By shoving you have the potential to either take the pot down there or realise the full pf equity of our hand by seeing all 5 cards in a potential flip. And AQ could still call our shove. So to me this is the play that makes most sense but i also see why some players would just call and thats OK.

Further point to add although this may not be that relevant, our stack has gone down from 5k to 3.3k in the 2nd level of the tourney. By just calling and folding most flops, we are going to continue to dwindle our stack down and this is too passive an approach for my liking.

for the record hero shoves and get called by QQ, hero catch a k otr and win the hand. Both play make sense either calling or shove but i like more shoving pre. Thnx all
