I'm going to put this down to tilt . I know I played this badly. Two questions...

Q1) Firstly I should bet the flop with two overs and a BDFD, correct? and then give up on the turn, not having picked up any equity?

Q2) As played, I shouldn't even call the flop bet because I just do not have the equity against villain's range?

Q1: yes
Q2: not necessarily. We checked so not surprised he bet ip. Tons of BD nut equity,so not good to fold flop. If we know his play it might even be ok to plan on bluffing river depending on what happens. Obv he takes that away with the shove so we have to fold, but never folding this flop.

Yeah I think we bet the flop. Not sure about a c/c there with those stacks.
I don't know enough about equity really but don't we shut down if we bet the flop and get action?

seems baldy played:

firstly flatting pre this early is certainly fine if we are readless. Tournments can't be won in the early stages but can certainly be lost and playing tighter earlier is correct as the blinds and antes dont represent a huge percentage of our stack. If we have loose reads I would be more inclined to 3b. So just go ahead and flat pre.

secondly I dont think thats a great texture to cb. There seems to be an absence or void of proper reasoning to support cbetting here. Hands like AJ,AT,KQ,KJ,KT,QT,JT are most certainly continuing to a cb which make up a big part of his range. I think you did well by checking but why call now, do you think you are best? A or Q are not clean outs for you and you are oop for two further streets in a 3b pot, seems to only spell a recipe for disaster

I think the 3b is OK - flat would be Ok too

I don't usually like to 3b and then just x/f but i think this is the flop to do it on.

The flop is just all over a range that might flat the OR and then flat a squeeze ( weaker broadways / medium pairs / maybe mid suited connectors - They have position and range advantage and we have no hand

Thanks for the advice guys this has been very helpful!

I will take from this:

1- consider flatting hands as strong as this OOP in early stages (with little info vs opps)

2-Be more inclined to 3bet here when opponents are on the loose side (and likely to be opening, and calling with worse hands)

3-Pay close attention to how the board texture connects with villain's range. Having equity, and the potential to turn greater equity is not enough reason to c-bet if the flop is one which highly favours villains range

Would that be a good assessment?

Any more to add or anyone disagree with any of these rules?

I would 3b pre, maybe slightly less (def. not more). Given the SPR and flop texture, I prob just sigh check-fold flop.

The reason I 3bet 10BB here is that at this early stage (40/80) players are too keen to call, and if my reasoning for raising is to isolate one player then I want to make it large enough to achieve that. I think that if I only 3X here I get snap called by both players too often.

I might add that I choose to 3bet, and not flat here as it is the Upswing Lab strategy not to flat at all from the SB vs LP raises. Primary reason being that we will be in an unfavourable position for the rest of the hand and thus the best result is to get a fold pre.

3b is standard, I just wouldn't raise any bigger than this.

pre i like flatting AQs here. raising is fine ofc but here i like squeezing my offsuit broadways and flatting the suited ones more. esp if bb is a fish, we become more incentivized to flat here.

flop : i would c / fold here, unless villan bets like 1 / 3. i don't think barreling is good on this board

Pre is fine. I dont mind to check/call flop with 2 overs and BDFD, but turn is an easy fold.

I like squeeze 25bb eff vs CO.
Its fine to check flop on that texture, betting occasionally is also fine considering a lot of other potential bluff cbet candidates would just call pre.
