Adjusting to larger starting stack Adjusting to larger starting stack

Hi,
I am used to playing with a 3500 starting stack and typically finish in the top 3. I have just started playing in a different game with 12k starting stack and the same blind structure (start at 50 etc), and I am hopelessly bleeding chips and going out early. I can't work out why it is different? And pointers to how I need to start thinking differently, or is this purely a psychological problem? ;-)
Thanks
Bass

The most common answer to this problem is you're playing too loose early on. Ideally, you want to play tight early on and loosen up (start raising more) as the blinds increase and the ante kicks in.

It's also a good idea to always know how many BB's you have at any given time. This will (sort of) dictate how you're going to play any given hand. Example; flopping top pair with 15bb's vs. flopping top pair with 250 bb's, they're going to be played much differently (most likely).
