i check on the flop, this hand does not seem to be in my c-bet range in a multiway pot.

Dépends what this raise from this villain means. Mostly I'll be jamming if I believe he is able to float this flop with 2 overs and bluff it this way or have this line with a FD. If big bet means big hand for this villain, I'd be folding. Calling is not an option here.

This is such a weird line...

So when he calls preflop on the button I think he can have some low pocketpairs like 22-66, suited connectors 56s+, suited gappers 86s+, suited aces A2s-A8s, some offsuited Aces ATo-AJo, KQo. He is more on the aggressive side, so I think he might play some of the hands I've said in a 3bet/fold style. But let's go with this range.

I like the CBet for value, since I do think we have the best hand most of the times. With him calling the flop, and since we don't improve on the Turn I would also check turn. That's when it gets weird. He bets almost pot... Like he wants you to fold all your top pairs and middle pairs. What is he representing?

- A set would make sense to slow play on the flop (even though its an heavy board but doesn't hit our range), but a set doesn't bet pot on the turn. So I don't think that he has 22, 55, 66.

- 33/44 are possible but he is aggressive and there are a lot of scary cards on the turn, I think he would raise with is low pair + gutshot on the flop...

- AhJx might do a very loose call on the flop, with two overs and BDFD, but does he bet pot on turn with it? I don't think so.

- AhXh makes a little more sense, although most aggressive players would raise you on the flop. But since you guys are fairly deep (eff. stack 55bb), he might want to slow play is draw. When you check the turn, he sees it as weakness and fires a big bet to get you out of the hand.

- Other hands like Open-Ended SD with FD, or Gut-shot with FD for sure 3-bet here.

Conclusion: I would put him on a AhXh trying to take the pot without showdown.

Still it's a big bet and we are not guaranteed to go to showdown. Our hand is not very good and our read can be wrong. I would have folded thinking that I was being robbed.

This.

Unless btn folds this very easy flop to float, your hand is destined to become a bluff-catcher whether you start checking immediately or later. Question is, do you want to play the bluff-catcher game in a small pot or a big pot?
