14 players left top 11 make the money but the structure is top heavy so you're kinda incentive to gamble

Pokerstars 27-180 player $7 SnG (~70 players normally)

Table '1' 9-max Seat #5 is the button 200/400

Seat 1: (5155 in chips)
Seat 2: Villain 12/6/40 over small sample (6310 in chips) 16bb
Seat 3: (6978 in chips)
Seat 4: BTN
Seat 5: (17730 in chips)
Seat 6: HERO BB(6426 in chips) 16bb

*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to Hero [4 A]
folds
Villain raises 480 to 880
folds

folds
Hero calls 480

*** FLOP ***$2360 [4 8 3]

Hero checks
Villain bets 1695
Hero raises 3801 to 5496 and is all-in

I find I get in these spots a lot where someone min raises late in a tourney and so often its QQ+ so maybe we just fold pre?

the flop is pretty good for us. we have 25% equity vs overpairs (not AA) and it misses most of his not pair range pre so I go for x/r but i'm really not happy about it. Calling to x/f turn or river seems bad too maybe someone can convince me

I don't know if anyone is going to be pro shove pre. I've stopped shoving my Ax at this depth because I think we get called by better aces too often and have poor all in EV I'll post a screenshot what I mean.

Seems fine. Tho some players will open shove a lot with 16bbs and only min raise as a trap, something to consider.

Shove pre looks terrible, especially given V's stats even if it's a small sample.

Fold pre

As played I dont know because you aren't supposed to defend crappy offsuit A-rag hands
You are behind everything in 95% of boards

Fold pre

Wait is there no ante ? If no antes fold pre, if not it's always sort of close and never so bad to defend because pot odds.

yes there is an anti.

for those saying fold pre could you elaborate please? Ax in general has good equity retention and should normally be well within our BB defend range vs a HJ 2.2x open.

However.. this raise off 16bb at the bubble kinda stinks? so that's why I could get behind folding but lets not get carried away with taking A4o out of our bb defend

Yeah I think I'd fold pre in this spot too, only because villain's range has you dominated so often here.
