i am in bb 2,000 blind plus 2,000 anti

old guy in like 6th position raises to 6,000 its folded to me

i have like 24,000 left.

Here the thing the guy has been limping some and this time he raise, so my read was he is raising with strong hands, if had a weaker hand he would limp.

but i didn't want to just fold 9s in the bb to a 3x open. so i ended up jaming and he had queens and i went broke.

so obvious vs a more conventional player i would be fine with my play, i have 12 bbs left i have 9s vs one raiser why not go for it. but in this particular type of old guy, i don't think i am doing that well vs his range. i think he is limping like aj, a-10 maybe a-q. i think this is like 10s plus.

anyway what do you guys think about a spot like this?

Re-shoving 99 with 12bb is pretty standard unless you have a good read that the opponent is so tight that you're behind his range (factoring in the dead money).

Can't fathom dropping 99 in the muck there. If you're read is that strong I guess but if avg stack is 30+ and we need a double to get back in it I still gii

Easy ship. Sure he'll have better sometimes but so much Ax or smaller pairs as well. Can't throw away 9s for 15bb there.

Are there any ICM considerations? With 12 BB's left I'm pretty much looking to get it in with any PP and looking to flip against AK/AQ or worse unless we are on the money bubble or there is a hefty pay jump coming up.

if you think you've got any fold equity at all it is a clear shove, and some players might make surprising folds to you here

without fold equity i think it's still ok but a bit more marginal. I'd be considering that against a normal range it is a very clear shove so to adjust so far away from the 'normal' play I'd have to be ultra confident that the villain's range had me crushed

Next time try and post his stacksize, how many handed it is and what his position is relative to the button also icm if applicable. These things are very important.

Generally if you had 20-25bb then it would be a decision but still proly a jam, unless you had reads to justify otherwise.
