this spot has been kinda bothering me so wanted to check with the gurus here and see what everyone thought

first hand at new table
i have 28 @ 1/2k (these tourneys play pretty shallow, so i have top 10stack right now, might be like 7/28)

unknown non reg opens 2k off of 35k, btn non reg peels with like a medium stack of 25bb-30ish
i have aqo in bb with again 28k

i look at it like wow the b/a and this extra 4k looks kinda nice to take down right now. So thinking 3b is gonna be the thing to do. so my stack is kinda awks right now for 3b. at any stack depth below like 25bb i think its a pretty slam dunk shove.
so i just jammed, thinking like i dont really want to 3b/f, and getting a 3b peeled doesnt look that great, and its only 28bb its not like its a huge stak or anything
i got snapped by a sicker hand than mine and lost and kinda felt like i punted cuz the field is pretty soft. but also its a mtt and you gotta get a lot of chips to get a nice score, so felt like jamming was pretty good cuz i just win it there and add like 7/8k to my stack without showdown and i should flip pretty good if i have to.
i could start building some 3b bluffs here but i dont think thats necessary since i will basically just call almost everything and i dont need many weak hands to squeeze with so i dont know if having a smaller 3b range makes lots of sense here
i could also just call but i dont win the pot very often when i just call. so i felt like jam was highest ev spot there in that moment in time, but at the end of teh day i lost a top stack and felt like i punted a lot of ev.

good move imo, the move is + ev. Could argue that a 3bet looks tighter, no bother with the line is fine. I would call only vs a tag.

I like jamming also with my whole 3bet range in this particular spot and think its best unless ep is very tight and button is also tight/trap happy which isn´t the case with most population otb.
