Hi all,

Just wanted to know your thoughts on the below hand. Not many hands on the big stack but they were quite active. We were a long way from the money and villain came to the table with the big stack so didn't get to see many show downs.

    Pacific, $30 Buy-in (150/300 blinds, 40 ante) No Limit Hold'em Tournament, 9 Players
Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager - The Ultimate Poker Software Suite.

    SB: 9,610 (32 bb)
    BB: 29,862 (99.5 bb)
    UTG+1: 20,160 (67.2 bb)
    UTG+2: 3,415 (11.4 bb)
    Hero (MP1): 9,012 (30 bb)
    MP2: 16,251 (54.2 bb)
    MP3: 6,079 (20.3 bb)
    CO: 7,482 (24.9 bb)
    BTN: 4,322 (14.4 bb)

    Preflop: Hero is MP1 with 7 7
2 folds, Hero raises to 600, 5 folds, BB raises to 1,740, Hero calls 1,140

    Flop: (3,990) 5 3 5 (2 players)
    BB bets 2,150, Hero ?????

fold pre, fold or shove flop (I don't think I can call here)?

Pre is close. It's over 10% of your stack. Folding isn't terrible. Raising a single open from the BB is pretty strong when he can call closing the action.

Without too much info, let's not assume he's an aggrotard bigstack without definitive proof, but we can give him a slightly wider value range. Let's say AJs, AQ+ and all pairs 88 plus. That's 42 combos that have us crushed, and 36 that we are ahead of right now on thr flop.

If we raise, even if he calls with his entire range, it's a bad bet because over 50% of it has it cruahed.

It's fine to just say he will check with whiffed overcards at least half the time on the turn, and probably continue betting with almost all his overpairs.

For these reasons i would call flop, and give up on the turm.

I think either folding or shoving pre are better here, leaning towards shoving, but might be a bit too deep for that.

I would never call pre here.

As played though, I'd probably get it in on the flop.
