Hello fellow 2+2ers,

This will be my first post on the forum and I want some your in depth opinions or critics about this hand

I have been playing online poker 3 years mainly turbo games and I am not a winning player, however, I would like to enhance my game because I love the game.

-$5.50 NLHE [Turbo], $3K Gtd / 694 entarant / $700 for 1ST
Position32 of 72, Blinds$600 / $1,200/ $150

The situation: I played in this table for less than 2orbits

seat 1: 15BB ,SB
seat 2: 22BB ,BB (HERO)
seat 3: 38BB
seat 4: 28BB
seat 5: 14BB
seat 6: 24BB
seat 7: 27BB
seat 8: 7.7BB
seat 9: 44BB ,Buttion (Villan)

72 remaining with the average stack of 13BB so I would say I have the pretty good stack.

The actions fold to the button who instant shoves for 44BB (he was 8th in the chip count position).

my hand: 8s8h
Board : 3h5h9h 7c 6c

Villan hand: 8d,10d

I think about a bit and decided to call given the fact that he had the most chips at my table and most importantly, as soon as I saw brazil under his screen... I managed to click the button.

Am I being the victim of ICM disaster? or perhaps variance?

I would really appreciate your comments or thoughts on this situation!

Please feel free to post your comments from the variety perspective.

good call sir. (you are too far off the money to give ICM alot of thought)

villain will probably minr induce with monsters, so think you are doing quite well vs his jam range here.

I think calling or folding are both pretty close, 22BB is a huge stack to call off with but villain's action looks very fishy so 88 is likely to be crushing his range. I'd imagine he'd also be doing this with lower PPs for example.

This belongs in Small Stakes MTT forum. MTTSNG means SNG (i.e. starts when it has a fixed number of players) which is multi-table (where that number of players is more than 19). We also get a fair bit of 18 man hands and also these new "on demand tournaments" seem to fit best here.

It would be nice to know how many people get paid rather than just how many left (or are you already ITM?) but I also think it's a call pretty much whatever.
