mp+1 stack<15bb raises 3BB looks like he has premium hand unless he is unaware of inflection points...I'd fold.

Not really - 66 is a flip even against a wide opening range - there's very little fold equity when V opens 3x off a 15BB stack - other players left to act - break even at best

Ok I was thinking this should be fine because I assigned him a more standard MP1 range. But if the 3x sizing says he has a premium, and his stack size implies there is no fold equity then it turns into a fold.

That actually makes a lot of sense. Thanks for the feedback guys.

If Villian has a bigger stack and opens smaller does this turn into a profitable play because of the increased fold equity? Or does it always end up being break even because we're usually flipping when we're called?

yeah, as my former coach said, there are 3 signs of strong range that original raiser could expose:
  1. early position
  2. shallow stack size
  3. large opening size

and if you can tick 2/3 then it's very likely to be strong range

Yes - I think can be profitable with a smaller raise with effective stacks say 18BB - ofc jamming over a 3x open if this is standard opening size - but there aren't many who 3x routinely these days

The other factor operating here though is the BB stack size - if V is awake he's not planning to fold to a BB shove of <12 BB so cannot be opening really light
