This is from a live tournament, kind of early stage but after the late reg and reentry phase. I've played with CO for the first time, and I can only say that he seems decent/reasonable, but nothing special.

UTG: 27 BB
CO: 75 BB
BTN: 140 BB
Hero (SB): 42 BB
BB: 12 BB

5 players post ante of 0.1 BB, SB posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 2 BB) Hero has A A

fold, CO raises to 2.5 BB, fold, Hero raises to 7 BB, fold, CO calls

Flop: (16 BB, 2 players) K T 9
Hero checks, CO bets 10 BB, Hero goes all in

Now I know that this shove is terrible, but I'd like to know what is/are the correct play/s. My guess is bet-fold is best, but probably check-call flop and check-call on safe runouts (safe means no Q, no J, no K, and no clubs) is fine, too. What about just check-folding the flop? Is that too nitty?

I'd size slightly bigger pre since you are OOP. I think check-shoving or bet-calling are fine on this stack size. There's plenty of worse hands he can stack off with here and I'm not a fan of bet-folding or check-folding on this stack depth with a hand this strong. Deeper, I might take a more passive line, check-calling flop/turn, etc.

What is he realistically bet-calling? I think he's checking back every Tx and 9x, and he might be checking some weak flush draws. So he only calls with KQ, KJ and good flush draws, like flush draw + gutshot or flush draw + pair. And of course his value: QJ, KTs, K9s, T9s, 99, TT. So we either get it in while behind or against very good equity. Even when we add in an occasional airball bluff, we're still in rough shape.

He can bet-call off every FD, Kx, pair/gutshot combos, potentially open-enders, etc. People can still sometimes bet 10x, 9x here bc they will usually have some sort of draw with it. We can also get him to fold hands that have decent equity. Check-calling the flop is ok, I guess, but a lot of turns are tough to play on this stack depth with less than a PSB left on the turn. Either the turn is bad for us, or he can check back and get a free river. I know it's not the best flop and occasionally I'll run into nutted hands, but that's just the way it goes sometimes in a 3bet pot on this stack depth.

Edit: meant to quote wowsooted's post.

I like this play. Villain can have lots of hands that hit this board that you still beat. If the turn is a terrible card, you can shut down.

If you CB and villain calls, you can shove any brick turn.
