Hi guys

V is 14/10 in 40 hands, first time he defends blind
Table was pretty tight, lot of pots being taken down by the preflop raiser

First time i make this 3 barrel stuff - i hoped he would fold his middle pairs or flush draws but....

Should i just have checked the turn? I think the moment i bet i have to fire a 3 barrel to have any credibility...

I'd bet a bit smaller on the flop, does the same job. About 30-40% pot.
Same for the turn, nothing really changes.

Why are you trying to get him to fold flush draws? We beat a flush draw?
The only thing you're getting to fold here is an A high flush draw and probably a lot of 6x, 5x, maybe even Qx but probably not.

In my experience there is no need to make these kind of bluffs in the early stages of MTT's. People just love to call way too much.

What hands are you representing here?
You raised from MP2, you don't have a lot (if any) 2's, 5's or 6's in your range.

So you're representing an overpair here? Do you think villain is really calling twice with worse?

The turn bet could be fine, but the river bet is a bit spewy imo.
There's nothing left for you to represent.

I think villain is showing up with two pair or better or air here most of the time.

In my limited experience, nobody value bets in micro tournaments. It is mostly all in with a monster or total bluff, especially in the early stages. Villan almost has 3x the stack you have, I would not mess with him on such a board.

It hits his range a lot more than yours. Your bet sizing is makes it look like you either have QQ+ or are bluffing with a flush draw yourself such as Ats+. Villan is either saying he has a set, or doesn't buy into your bluffing attempt and is willing to call you down hoping for an overcard on river, like maybe a Q.

So if you really want to bluff, shove all in on the turn and hope he doesn't have a set. I don't think that is a smart play so check/fold and wait for a better opportunity.

I know people say never limp, but screw I would say limp in with JT and if you don't hit any piece of the flop go on to the next one.
