Playing the $3.30 200$ GT freezeout on BetOnline. Its a rainy Monday evening, with thunderstorms in the area. There are about 12 of us left when...BAM the power goes out. Its dark and silent and then EUREKA, for a brief moment the lights sputter and come to life. Then black again. Then back on. Then out. So as I sit muttering small talk at the wall, I remember a thread about someone having the capacity to play tourneys through BOL on their phone. With 25% battery and new found life, I fire up my browser and get into the mix. We fight our way to the FT and find ourself on the money bubble with 5 players remaining.
OTTH: Blinds 200/400 ante 30

Hero is BTN with AQ 5.5k chips
Villain is BB and chip leader with about 15k chips.

Folds to Hero, who elects to min raise to 800, Villain calls. Pot 2.4 K

Flop is A K J

Villain leads for 1/2 pot 1.2k
Hero Calls

Turn is 6 Villain ships. Hero?

You're starting the hand with 14bb so you have no room to play around. If he's a very aggressive player then you could call down to induce bets. Otherwise just shove the flop.

I realize this, of course in hindsight. My reasoning for the min was to induce calls from worse hands which I succeeded in doing. I do believe I should have just jammed pre or on the flop. The villain in question was on quite a heater having dodged Kings vs. by hitting quads.

Shoving pre is definitely an option. The minraise is good if the blinds are aggressive players who might 3b if they think your raise looks like a cheap steal attempt. But otherwise shoving is best.
