PokerStars - 70/140 Ante 21 NL - Holdem - 9 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

MP+2: 142.42 BB
Hero (CO): 53.24 BB
BTN: 29.33 BB
SB: 134.94 BB
BB: 23.79 BB
UTG: 41.39 BB
UTG+1: 40.31 BB
MP: 28.62 BB
MP+1: 15.42 BB

9 players post ante of 0.15 BB, SB posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 2.85 BB) Hero has Q K

fold, UTG+1 raises to 2 BB, fold, fold, MP+2 calls 2 BB, Hero raises to 9 BB, fold, fold, fold, fold, MP+2 calls 7 BB

Flop: (22.85 BB, 2 players) 6 J J
MP+2 checks, Hero bets 5.71 BB, MP+2 raises to 15 BB

What kind of range do we put MP+2 on when they flat 2x pre?
What part of that range would they check/raise with?

We only need about 17% equity to call the raise on the flop, do we continue?

Yeah, could 3bet a smidge less (like 7-8 blinds prob like 7.5 with 8.5 being max since UTG+1 and you aren't that deep).

Gotta peel the flop here. Too many backdoor options plus you block Jx and not diamonds.

I’ve heard a rule that you should never 3bet KQ because most people will generally play perfect vs it pre (folding worse and calling better). I think you should instead pick a hand you shouldn’t call with but is close like KTs

I think this seems like a slam dunk squeeze preflop tbh with flats mixed in. Like if I was putting it into a solver do 75% of combos since that's easier to remember for 3betting and if you're constructing your flat range put 25%~ for flatting. 3betting in tournaments is just so valuable esp with antes. It's possibly the best thing ever and one of the things we'll be doing most in tournaments aside from opening, shoving <30 bb ranges and cbetting.

Sounds like terrible advice

We're losing to everything but the flush draw though and honestly I don't see people going crazy with draws too often.

Even Ax has us beat, we need to hit a K or Q or a very lucky backdoor flush to win this hand.
Even if the K or Q comes, we could still be losing against a J and then we'd lose a lot more.

In my experience check/raises are almost always extremely strong.
Most casual players won't raise with a flush draw here, again in my experience.

I’ll try and plug it in later, let you know what I get

We mostly just have pretty good odds to potentially turn backdoor stuff and we would be flatting Jx this way too. Which doesn't mean we gotta go crazy just something to consider.
