I am trying to find more bluffs and I am wondering what people think of this spot.

Villain 1 SB - Splashy recreational player. He has been playing a few too many hands.

Villain 2 BB- Low stakes pro. Not sure if he plays cash games or mostly tournaments. Seems competent.

We have ~13K to start the hand (20K starting stack)
Both villains cover us
300/600/600 ante (20 minute levels)

Preflop: Hero has K Q UTG
We raise to 1.4K, SB calls, BB calls

Flop: 9 7 7
Check, check, Hero checks

Turn: T
Sb bets 1.5K, BB calls, Hero calls

River: T
Check, Check, Hero shoves for ~10K

Love it? Hate it?

I thought this is a good run out to bluff.

You are representing a T only. Hard for them to call. 10K is a little over pot. You could go smaller, save chips, and represent the same thing. Maybe shove the turn with outs usually.

Pretty sure a T checks this river a bunch imho.

Prefer turn raise for me personally.

I never succeed here. An A always calls. Usually they were on a flush draw that didn't get there or AJ...

I like the jam the turn choice.

Mulitway? I doubt either player would ever been checking a T here as it would likely go check/check if either player had showdown value.

Would value bets usually shove? I don't see the point of trying to scare people with the large sizing when you can lay yourself better odds with a smaller bet.

How much smaller do you go? If it's under half you tempt Ace high into calling as Rick said. Since both flush draws missed. Maybe like 5500?

I do like turn shove. It sucks if we are called by a 7 with only one card to hit our outs, but there's a lot of dead money out there and we may get calls from T9/T8/88 type hands. Even still, it's high variance and I might not do it if I felt I had a skill edge.

Feel like there’s way more hearts/diamonds/9x than showdown, just my 2cents.

As a general rule, you want to make sure you have the nuts advantage when running a big bluff. You don't want to bluff if your opponents can wake up with a bunch of nutty hands. While I think one of them would bet Tx on the river, I could easily see one of them having 7x - especially BB, who can have a slew of them in his range.

Thanks for the responses. SB folded quickly and BB tanked and folded. He said he had a 9. I think a smaller bet sizing makes it too tempting to bluff catch.

No, I just wanted to see what other people thought and maybe generate a discussion.

I think if I bet small on this river, a good player might consider the fact that both flush draws missed. Betting big makes it it tougher to hero call.

If you bet small a guy with just an A would have called.
