Winamax did it, they made me go absolute batshit because of their customer support, or rather lack of.
A couple weeks ago I created an account on winamax to play MTTs there, after creation I immediately deposited 500€. Then they ask me for proof of identity and address. No problem, I send them my passport, accepted within 10 minutes and I also send them address verification(Letter from insurance). Declined with automated email. Ok, I send them shareholding info. Declined with automated email. I send them info of the National Insurance of Malta. Declined with automated email. I send them proof of the Job Agency in Malta, a document that I need for my residence card there. Declined.
At this point I am out of documents, I don't have utility bills in my name, they are done over my landlord, which apparently is a thing in Malta. At this point I am thinking of how to proceed, I made several accounts a partypoker account, a GGPoker account, a coinbase account with these documents and it was never a problem. I am like well whatever, I can't be bothered anymore, please close the account and charge back my money.
We can't do that without address verification, that is the last email I receive from them.. At this point I am kind stunned, they are going to close my account in a month, have given me no info on how to proceed and only answer with templates and automated mails. I am like they can't just keep my money right? So I am preparing a complaint to the french legislator and have to fight my to French only sites and apparently this is a legal requirement.
So all they had to do at this point was telling me via mail that the code is on the way and that this is a legal requirement, instead they ignored my emails after declining 5 documents including various government documents and made me wonder what the **** is happening.
So after 1.5 weeks the letter arrives, I actually cancelled plans to get off the island for this because I read that various people never got their money back, because the letter never arrived due to Covid delays. I am obviously pissed, their software and website is **** and in French only. After literally fuming and being blind of rage I manage to verify my address, I am finally free and can withdraw from this **** site. Right?
Nope, now they want proof of my bank account.
Well ok log into my bank account, download a statement, make screenshot of it, blacken out details, upload it and be done.
Nope declined with an automated email in French telling me I need "RIB". What the **** is RIB? No details on their site, so I have to google, it apparently is a french thing. Never heard of it in Germany, nor in Malta, never needed it for anything else.
So now what? Their customer support is probably enjoying that I am absolutely fuming because I have spend over 15 hours so far trying to make this work at this point all I write them is insults, because they ignored my polite emails just hitting me with templates and no explanations whatsoever.
On Google I see actual reviews where people never their money back, maybe they didn't try hard enough and spend 40+ hours to do it, I will though.
Don't play on Winamax if you are not French or rather don't play there at all, they clearly don't care about customers as this seems to happen regulary:
