lots of online and live tournaments have (un)limited reenter possibilites.

But what is the best strategy? Regging before start? Never reentry bounty tournaments as big chunk of the prizepool is already gone? Any general rule for it?

E. g. the $54 Bounty Main Event at GGPoker; how should I approach it?

Problem that I also have with reentries, that it quickly raises the total amount of buy-ins. Instead of having a casual $2000 Sunday it turns into a $6000 Sunday ... any advice?

PKO: Do not reg with less than 75% of remaining field in normal PKOs. In PKOs where the bounty prizepool is more extreme (75% bounty tournaments for example), I would definitely not be re-entering. Your ROI will suffer tremendously.

Vanilla: Fine to register whenever you want. Worth noting that the value of an early double does nothing for your bottom line which is why so many regs late reg. Max late regging is the best ICM choice but doesn't factor the money being given away in the early stages, lowering your chances of actual winning the whole shebang. Also worth consideration is your edge at different stack depths. If you are understudied at 100bb+, then I would reg a bit later where I know have an edge. Ex. 10K starting, BB level 200 = 50bbs.

Bankroll Realities: Your choice to re-enter should be largely determined by your edge in the field and your available bankroll. If you can afford to fire infinite in high value games, then it's worth doing. This will increase the variance you experience dramatically but will mean you have more chances of hitting than someone who only 1 bullets. If your goal is to shrink your Sunday losses from 6k to 2k (and you are a winning player), then limit your re-entries. You can also control this by writing down your Sunday schedule the day before and know exactly what you will play and how many entries etc. That way, you're never surprised.

Can you also elaborate this to Satellites? Or dont they differ to the "Vanilla" strategy?

The ICM value of max late regging a satellite will be greater than in a vanilla tournament. This is due to the fact that while in both cases a large % of the field has busted, in satellites a min-cash is going to be worth 4x-10x the buyin (depending on what kind you enter) and a min-cash in vanilla will be 1.5x-2x the buyin. Assuming you are not a 10bb punter, max late regging a sat will auto-profit (in ROI). Again, max late regging increases your variance but if your bankroll can support the swings, it's recommended that you do.
