What is a fair way to do this? What is a fair way to do this?

I am currently 35/89 out of 2614 in a $5 2R1A, but I have to go. My friend agreed to play it for me, but what is a fair way to chop the winnings? I am already making at least $50 but I've gotten myself this far with an above average stack so what is a fair way to do this?

chop it up by how much time each of you invest. if you play for 4 hours and he plays for 2 hours he gets 1/3 the winnings.

Overly generous IMO, he didn't pay any of the buy-in.

yeah but the real work is done late...if he is a friend and helping out I would err to closer to 50/50 after backing out what you already secured

Assuming this arrangement is within the rules of the site you're playing on, you're essentially staking him in a 90 man SNG with a buyin equal to the remaining prizepool (less the $4500 everybody's currently assured for the $50 payout) divided by the remaining players. A one-off stake with no make-up is usually what, about 60/40 for the staker?

If it's not within the rules of your site, stop cheating you son of a bitch, and certainly don't come here and ask for advice on how to cheat 'fairly.'

C'mon, cheer up

This is very clearly not a case of "whoa, I made it deep and now my friend the pro player is taking over".

Site rules or not, it would be ridic to insist the poster should let his stack blind out just because he's got to be somewhere. So not "cheating".

email support. Have them divide up any money won once the tourney is over at their discretion.

Ended up having a half hour more than I thought I would which was plenty of time to bust out on my own accord. Is this against the rules of any site? I was under the impression that they didn't have any "one man to a hand" rules online because of how unenforceable such a rule would be. I thought the rule was you aren't allowed to let other people log in to your account.

if you're feeling nitty, thank him for being a friend and covering for you and that's all. 10% is generous. 20% is what he'd get if was staked from the start on a one time deal, and now we're down to 3% of the field size. Giving 20% is obv also generous and would be cool too, he is your friend after all. but that said i don't think you're really on the hook for anything 'to be fair'. it's case by case imo. give whatever you feel right giving, or what you agreed to give him to take it over (easier for future. "hey if you can take this over for me i'll give you x%? ktx".

also as mentioned make sure this is legal on the site you're playing on.

Wow this is much more wisdomous than I expected any responses to be.

Yet strangely makes sense, except for a chip stack.

ya right. a deal w/ lifetime makeup MIGHT start at 60/40 for the staker. one off w/ no makeup should be no worse than 80/20 for the staker. (with some exceptions)

I'm glad I'm not the only person that thinks these 40-60% numbers are crazy.
