Hello, everyone...

It's that time of year again, when we've got the schedule for this year's World Championship of Online Poker just about set internally, and now we're ready to share it with our players for feedback on what we've put together. We've been working on the schedule for a few weeks now, resulting in what you see below.

WCOOP 2015 will run from September 6th through September 27th. Please take a look at the tentative schedule and let us know what you think, either by replying here or by sending email to wcoop at pokerstars dot com. We've got some exciting things in mind for this year's series, and we want to know what you think!

Please note that guarantees and multi-day event labels will not be listed until the Events are posted to the PokerStars client, likely sometime in mid-July. Thank you as always for taking the time to provide feedback!

I like it.

not a huge deal but the wrap up could be non zoom since with most people having a bunch of tables on sunday (Esp a 10k 8game) it could be better to have it normal..?
06-11-2015 , 12:19 PM
A lot of the "championship" events with a $2100 buy in could be reduced to $1050 or $700 imo. At $2100 your only realistic satellite options are feeders to a $700 last minute mega sat. As well as feeders to a $215 one a day type tourney.

At $1050/$700 you open a lot more options for direct sats which would lead to far more runners in the WCOOP event.

As it stands a good portion of the obscure game $2100 tourneys are going to be filled with Bracelet hunters and the cream of the crop players which gives little incentive for a rec to try and take part. I don't know if this is by design but it will be the end result.

+1 to non zoom on the wrap-up. never ever put a ZOOM-COOP on sunday please. it really limits what you can play (even the hours beforehand as to not have too many tables up when the zoom-coop pops) and it is going to negatively impact things where a regular turbo MTT would not.

more events please, esp saturdays and sundays can use one more vanilla holdem, this rly doesnt look tht special
06-11-2015 , 12:45 PM
is sunday the 20th meant to only have 3 events? the other sundays have 4
06-11-2015 , 01:06 PM
Having a 4max on a Sunday seems like a bad idea. (Good Wednesday/friday event type.)

I hope all of the late start events are 2 days.

Change 700 3 stack to 700 variable pko. Take out earlier pko for a vanilla 6mqx

THIS.
I don't mind the rise in BI from prev WCOOP, but 2100 is just way too high. Does not allow players who would do 320-530, maybe 700 prices, the chance to play 'their' championship event, and hence the field would be weighted towards middle to high stakes specialists and then the high stakes players going for leaderboards etc. 700 I like more tbh, but I see 1050 working due to the fact many 109, 162, 215 etc etc sats can be run.
Also where is the NL 2-7 SD
I can see issues with long days, no sleep inbetween Sep 10-11 (Thurs Thrill).
Move the $320 NLHE HU to 11:00 at least, this event takes forever.
Possibly switch the FL 2-7 TD with Thurs Thrill on Sep 17th, many were frustrated with the long days with the 1k NLHE during SCOOP when in the last time slot. Switch 11:00 and 14:00 on Sep 24. Just brainstorming, prob missed more.

They obviously cant afford to take such a huge risk, remember this scoop $2100 NLSD almost got cancelled because of very few entrants at the start even though it 2x its gtd after it ran?

in general there should be more consisency. do it like the wsop

320 2-7 SD on tuesday
2100 2-7 SD championship on thursday

thats it. no other randomly scatered buyins

in the case of rebuys

109+R NLHE on thu
320+R/530+R NLHE championship

if u scarret al buyins around this looks way too messy plus the 2 tier letsplayers hwo run deep take a shot at the big championship later on
06-11-2015 , 01:44 PM
I couldn't play it the SCOOP NL 2-7 SD, so occassionally played sats for T$, but from memory the 2.1k didnt have sats until the day of the event. Medium sats ran most the time. If sats run leading up to it, it shouldnt be an issue, but 2.1k may be too high regardless, the BI jump for regular mixed to this WCOOP as 27/82>2100, too steep even with 215, maybe 109 BI sats.

+1 I can still play 320 if not 215 provided(my avg bi $10-15) you run sats at least 1 week before the event, but cmon 2100? seriously you only want 40-50 bunch of high stakes players to compete for bracelet? No need to have 320 a bracelet event but at least let recs/low/mid stakes players play nlsd event this wcoop?
06-11-2015 , 01:48 PM
Like that 2-tier blakkman, even if Bryan doesnt like to make WCOOP slightly longer with that, he could instead do a week prior rise in BIs of the dailies and weeklies, e.g. 27->82, 82>215. This works well as just 1 higher rung in Step tickets
06-11-2015 , 02:02 PM
there are plenty of smaller stakes events and i think a 'championship' event def deserves to be a 2k BI. i think having more high stakes tournaments and therefore attracting a broader player spectrum, is a great change compared to previous WCOOPs.

+1 to no 4max/zoom on sundays. i guess the 4max is somewhat ok given it starts off-peak but the wrap up zoom is def a no-no imo. also, why are there only 3 events on the 3rd sunday?

i think the 3-stack format is pretty bad/unnecessary in a championship series and just like in SCOOP, there are way too many PSKO tourneys. if you check the SCOOP thread, im def not the only one voicing those opinions.

i assume the ****ty clause for the main event will not be changed? plenty of negative side effects have been mentioned in a previous thread when it was first introduced...

If you attempt to register for the WCOOP Main Event (currently deployed to the client, with satellites running each Saturday and Sunday), you will notice that there is no clause referring to anything at all to do with the final table. The set of Terms & Conditions in place last year is a thing of the past.

No problem if you have those championship events $2100(edit: i still think its too high) , I guess they will be running 2nd chance events also , maybe we low stake player could play those events. But pls dont tell me you removed NL SD from this wcoop schedule because of scoop 2100 less entrants at the start, that happened because of poor sats offerings , bring back nlsd they never went overlay in coop events as far as I know.

Edit: Btw will you be running 2nd chance events this year?

Well played. The negatives outweighed the positives last year.

How fixed in stone are you guys with the current lineup?

NL Single Draw 2-7 has been on a rocky peg as far as being offered in *COOPs for quite a while now. We strongly considered not having it in SCOOP, and its performance in SCOOP was underwhelming.

As for 2nd Chance tournaments, yes we plan to have them.
06-11-2015 , 03:58 PM
Figures dont really show that though in Prev SCOOP:
$215 scoop had 25k gtd, entries 307 - prizepool 61400
$27 also had 25k gtd , entries 1360 - prizepool 33388
Smashed Gtds
Same Nos as Stud8 and similar to Dugi, 2-7, Razz in Low
Same Nos as Dugi, PL5CD, close to Stud8 and FL 2-7 in Medium
People want to play
06-11-2015 , 04:57 PM
^ Agree, just saw the nos. its almost same compared with other draw/stud games, infact stud had lower entrants than nlsd this scoop but I still see stud 7 championship this scoop , also last year also during both wcoop/scoop NL2-7SD had decent numbers.
