Why not add one as kickoff here in the WCOOP, Sunday, September 7th? As an extra event?

I know there is a PLO the day after but the point is to have a major PLO event on a Sunday.

If not there on another Sunday, not a single PLO event is on a Sunday as far as I can see but a few have multiple NLHE events for example..

7/66 events is PLO, 1/66 is 5-Card Omaha.

So I suggest adding at least 1 PLO MTT more and 100% make it on a Sunday.

COOOME ON MAN!!!

Make more big PLO tournaments, 6max and HU, u could have a 10k event in both and the 6max would get 100+ for sure and the HU would EASY get 50+....

Give something to the PLO crowds!

Nice to post in line with all of you guys above me

Dear Bryan,

I am a reg in the PLO Hi MTT's on Pokerstars, and I feel sure that there is enough demand to get decent 3-figure field-sizes for a daily 55$ and 109$ Omania at european evening time, as well as I'd expect a weekly 1050$ on a Sunday to easily reach that.
There are a few dozen regs who'd always play those, including myself (except the 1K), as well as many mid-/high-stakes cash-players, and an endless amount of shot-takers who chime in every now and then and would likely prefer bigger buy-ins than just the daily 33$ Omania to have a better shot at a big score in a PLO MTT (which doesn't last +6 hours as NLHE).

!!! - I'm sure that especially many recreationals would love to have an afternoon/early evening Sunday PLO 1K that ends early enough to be able to get up on Monday, in contrast to Sunday Million, Sunday 500, or Super Tuesday of boring NLHE - !!! (Winners would likely play much more cash afterwards, too, which is a win-win for PS and players)

Since this is the WCOOP-thread, my on-topic advice would just be the already mentioned Kick-Off PLO Event, as well as a 1050$ PLO Event on a Sunday to raise awareness for this wonderfull MTT-variant with a big guarantee pearl, as already mentioned above.

Compare Saturday Super KO which is 154+154+12, with the WCOOP tournament, which is likely to be 150+150+20 or something simliar and you can see this is a large increase in extra rake.

I guess Stars have worked out that when they invent a new tourney format, they get to set the rake, so why not set it for the max you can get?

Likewise there are seven re-entry tournaments this year and no 2x chance tournaments. Why? Well obviously the re-entry is raked and the second entry on the 2x chance isn't. Not to mention that re-entry and multi entry tournaments are killing poker.
This is obviously a trend and I think it's been exacerbated by the fact .FR has been doing it (which is reasonable due to the 4% tax on everything) but I suspect Pokerstars have decided that nobody has complained about it on .FR so they might as well do the same on .com and increase their percentage of rake per tournament. It's a gradual slide that has taken hold in all types of poker whether live or online despite the fact that edges are decreasing across the board. I'm not sure what the solution is but when you hear that at least 3/4's of deposits are taken by Pokerstars in rake then it doesn't seem to me like we're on a level playing field. I don't know what will happen with Amaya buying Pokerstars but the NVG thread has made me despair for the future of online poker.

The consensus in these thread is generally against Sunday PLO because of how many good NLH tournaments run on Sunday and how much harder it is to play multiple games at the same time.

Yes, but we, PLO guys, want our own good Sunday MTT. I'm not playing those NLH MTTs anyways.

PokersStars runs the weekly 215 Badugi, Razz, Stud, 5 card draw, 27TD, HORSE, and FLO8 on Sunday and I don't here any complaints about that.

^ I don't play those but would if they were on a Saturday (and I'm the kind of fish you want in those games!). Ideal scenario from my pov would be to have one day each week as the main day for each variant with Sunday being the NLHE day (and probs Saturday for PLO). On the special day for that variant there should be several tourneys.

PLO is by far the 2nd most popular game after NLH so it is the game variant that would benefit the most from the increased amount of traffic on a Sunday vs any other day of the week. For example the weekly Razz on a Sunday is a 6K guarantee (7.2K prizepool last time), if it was held instead on Tuesday it would potentially still hit the guarantee so the benefit of holding it on Sunday is marginal at best, the 530 PLO on Mondays is a 40K guarantee (50.5K prizepool last time) and would almost certainly break a 100K guarantee on a Sunday or potentially a 150K or higher if promoted and it had a decent number of satellites to it.

Saying NLH MTT regs cant play 2 games at once, let alone the two big bet games which are most similar to each other, is laughable at best. I happen to play both PLO and NLH MTTs so of the 110 players who played it this monday I have 97 color tagged and by far the largest group of players are mid/high stakes NLH MTT players (around 65 - 75% of the field). I only counted about 10 - 15 names of players who play PLO cash as their primary game.

As with raidalot, I used to play the weekly $215s all the time, but I began skipping them because of the difficulty playing them on Sunday. If those MTTs you listed were not on Sunday, I'd play them regularly (although I'm not the kind of fish you want!)

There is much more HS PLO action than HS NL action these days, it would be nice if tournaments reflected that demand (have a 10k or 25k HU PLO, 10k 6max PLO etc)

Perhaps, but there is much more HS NL MTT action than PLO MTT action. This would kinda be like suggesting changes to cash game promotion/series because of how much action big NLH MTTs get - doesn't quite make sense.

But, I do agree that maybe there should be at least one more 4 figure+ PLO tournament. The question is where does it go? Bryan has been pretty adamant about having 3 tournaments max per day, so any high buyin PLO would necessitate some other tournament getting cut. Don't know if it would be very popular to cut an event to add a PLO highroller.

They are never not having the Warmup and Million obviously, so your suggestion means they either have 4 tournaments (which they prob won't) or they cut one of the following. Which one are you suggesting should be cut?:

12:30 ET: WCOOP-23: $10,300 NL Hold'em [8-Max, Re-Entry, High Roller]
12:30 ET: WCOOP-44: $10,300 NLHE [High-Roller Heads-Up]
12:30 ET: WCOOP-65: $10,300 8-Game [High-Roller, Re-Entry]

As it works out, you'd just be replacing one highroller game/format with another.

Which one is less deserving than PLO?
