With more than 400 support employees it should not be a problem for you to find one who can give us feedback in small threads like this and keep us who try to improve pokerstars a little bit happier. It works in some other official pokerstars threads as well that almost every question is answered from pokerstars reps.
Players dont know where they stand with their requests for changes/improvements and that is very disappointing.
That's BS reasoning. Although more answers might be better I'd prefer to have a few answers by someone who actually has a say in things than all answers by someone who's job it is to answer questions. No one here would care to have these posts answered by support staff.

yeah I'd rather see a single fortnightly post from Bryan than a daily reply from a call centre employee

There will likely be 2nd Chance tournaments, yes. The buy-ins aren't necessarily half of the corresponding WCOOP Event.
can someone explain this for another noob. does this mean there are going to be similar 1/2 price tournaments for each event?

for example day 1 would have

WCOOP 1 $109 kick off
WCOOP 2 $215 sunday warm up
WCOOP 3 $215 sunday milly

and then somethign like?

WCOOP 1.1 $50 kick off 2nd chance
WCOOP 2.1 $100 warm up 2nd chance
WCOOP 3.1 $100 sunday milly 2nd chance

55, 109, 109 or something. They usually start 3 (?) hours after the main tourney

yep, its annoying that they refuse to promote them a bit tho. At least make them green or something to stand out, im sure lots of people miss them due to standard text and not appearing until shortly before they begin.

I think the reasoning is that there will be some people who ditch the mains in favour of the half buyins from previous answers to this question. Seems extremely unlikely stars would miss out on profit though, and extremely likely it will bump profits and increase first in them by a reasonable %.

Another 'Everybody wins' situation that Stars inexplicably dont want to make the changes for.

And if it isnt, just dont do it next year, eyeroll.

yeah i think making 2nd chance events orange or smth in the lobby would at least slightly increase the field sizes.

The first rule of second chance WCOOP tournaments is you do not talk about second chance WCOOP tournaments.
The second rule.. well you know

make them pink or purple

the main issue with the second chance mtts is that they have no guaranteed prize pools. which means many players will simply not have them in their lobby at all ( i used to have 'g' in my filter box to reduce clutter as i am sure many others do too)

Colour and guarantee not really that big a deal stars doesn't want them taking players away whatever. Not being published in the client and reg not open except for a tiny window is way worse and makes them so easy to miss

i would prefer that they dont run 2nd chances on the same day. Either next day or few days later or another own series (instead of wcoop challenger if there are too many already) like ftops and mini-ftops but not with such a big difference in buyins.

The whole point of second chance tournaments was to give people another shot at a once-a-year tournament format. Like, you get hyped and take off work to play the 27TD event and run bad for two hours and bust you can take another shot. They only mildly have functioned like this for a few years.

They are literally exactly the opposite of what whitesnow is asking them to be.

Do you get any pop message or any notification after you bust out or something coz last time I remember I waited whole year just to play $215 2-7 SD and then there was $109 2-7 SD 2nd chance I saw the other day. If only they had promoted this I would have not missed this once or twice in a year tournament

Yeah, I've even forgotten to play 2nd chances on occasion even though I actively look for them. It'd be nice if registration at least could be open earlier than 1 hour in advance.

2nd chances should be made a bigger deal imo. This could easily be done in a manner that would run like a midstakes series with buyins from $50-$109 and the odd $215. A lot of the player base are reluctant to play a WCOOP if they can't satty in due to the cost. Yet these same players would be willing to play a $55 dollar tourney with no problem.

Imo that is what we have with SCOOP with 3 tiers of buyin. i would be all for stars having a midstakes tournement series, but i dont think it should be part of WCOOP. the 2nd chances are just offering tournaments that are likely to interest a large part of the field that are playing on stars at that particular time, due to the similar wcoop event, and i think they should remain so.

As i earlier in this thread, i think Stars should move in the direction of making the wcoop more like the wsop with actual championships in each game type with similar BI's. Adding a lower BI tier on each event as part of the series would move it more away from being like the wsop, imo

So when can we expect to see the 2nd chance mtt's in the lobby so we know the buyins

I love the ideas from all these people about making the second chance tournaments more prominent. An easy way to do this like some mentioned is make the text a different color, or my favorite so far- make the registration more than 1 hour prior like all the other tournaments. I often miss these because I have too many tables and usually check every hour or so.

Schedule looks great, thanks for putting it on!

ya i missed alot of events last year bc of the 1hr pre-reg. I think registration for 2nd chance events should start 24hours before seating. They're like mini-scoop events for players that aren't rolled for the main events.

Thats literally exactly why they have those restrictions. Stars does not want them to be alternative options for players who don't want to play the real event.

If thats the case why no same restrictions for Sunday 2nd Chance?

If the 2nd chances were only open to players who've already played (or are still playing) the related WCOOP event, that would at least enable Stars to remove the veil of secrecy from them.

ETA: ooh, I had an idea. How about making them open to all, but offering a rake discount / rebate to players of the related event? And advertising them aggressively!
