I would like to hear if somebody could recommend some mind blowing SnG videos (don't have any specific training site in mind) I have seen the series listed below and found them very educational

Amt's Last man standing series
AMT & bones Hitchhikers guide to SNG series
Vandweller's Real-life: Micro sng grinder series
Vandweller's Blackboard series

exactly what can you learn from sng videos?
You either know your push/call ranges in all spots or you dont. what will a vid teach you?

invest some time in icm tools..learn the basic ranges for pushing against randoms, invest some more time to understand the mechanisms behind icm and how to adapt to the spitecallers/good regs and what you can call vs randoms / lightpushing regs.

Learn the spots where you shouldnt push and instead just minbet/fold to shove or minbet/induce shove or 2,5x/call shove for more value.

Play alot and review your hh's or let someone good do it for you...i really dont belive you can learn alot from a video when it comes to sngs. Ive seen a few from darinvg on bluefirepoker and wasnt impressed.

I think vids can be a great inspiration (especially the ones I list) to sng's, I'm not saying you can't become good at sng's without seeing videos, but they can give a lot of input on some new things in your game, that you need to be working on, things you haven't thought of yourself.
I'm not talking about ranges, I don't learn my ranges by watching vids. I also believe there's more than push/call ranges to sng's

if you play 6max turbos, luceboy has a couple of very very good series on DC

also for 6max turbo casy151 does good videos on DTB as does zerosum69 (general sng strat, not 6max)

@diditmyway : i think it's different depending on the person, some people find vids really useful (like myself) to motivate me and give me ideas on strategy and how to analyse hands better. I don't think I would have the same results just sat here on my own using wiz and reviewing HH's. But like I said I think everyone is different in terms of how they find it easiest to learn and take on new information, especially if you are totally new to SnGs and have no idea what ICM or sngwiz is, sitting there on your own with no external input isn't gonna be terribly useful

lots can be learned from vids. if it plugs just one small leak, thats so much money in the long run.

I would recommend you the videos on snggrinders. Glitlr's videos is a good source of info for 9man. He not only talks about games situation spots , he shows alot about fundamental theory and training preparation.

i'm with Dolph, they can show you what to do in specific situations that have HAPPENED more than the books can.
Will take the cardrunners advice myself too, cheers

because sngs are 100% push or fold, and it's not like having a good player break down hands on video is ever going to be a useful thing.

i like the "machtisonni" vids from Cardrunners. He probably makes some spewy overaggressive plays but his overall approach to the game is very good in my opinion.

SnG videos suck imo, just figure it out on your own.

Always thought sippin_criss videos ( his old stox ones are all on CR now) are better than 90% of the videos by the mid/high stakes guys.

DDBeast has some good ones on bluefirepoker

but yeah they all suck

In videos you can see things happen and how the pros are adjusting to each spot. Moreover you can hear what are they thinking before they make a play and why they make it.So i dont think the videos suck

Not saying the idea of it sucks, I'm saying most people who make them do a mediocre job. Some of them just aren't good at explaining, some of them don't want to reveal much, regardless it makes for a meh video

I've seen at least lets call it 20 videos from succesful high stakes reg where the video consists of.....shove this, ah I fold here, hmm this is close but I raise, etc Never really saying why or teaching you how to think about poker hands which is the ultimate goal. This is a common theme amongst all training sites whether its sng, cash, mtt etc

As a beginner this can be ok material, but once you've developed any sort of poker brain most of these videos become pretty worthless lol

+1

His series on there is fantastic. He goes through each SNG in HEM replayer hand by hand and gives his thought process and discusses it with another online pro.

Jackal's videos on Cardrunners are good too

Videos are good for fundamentals to get you so far but there isn't a single one I've seen with advanced plays that I use. Just get yourself the highest win rate coach you can find. There's about 3 to choose from.

Braminc, Sippin and Machti Sonni on CR all excellent.

@tomodak for people without a decent sng network videos are a great way to see how others play and can clear up a lot of niggling questions.
