Hero checks, MP+2 bets 14 BB, fold

(Pre 69%, Flop 83%, Turn 89%)
BTN shows A J (One Pair, Fours)
(Pre 31%, Flop 17%, Turn 11%)
MP+2 wins 65.19 BB

I was really tempted to pull the all-in trigger on the river there... because I have the ace of spade and I dont think he has a flush... so, I think I get a decent amount of folds there, but then I second guess myself and thought that the average player in this tournament wouldn't fold a pair with that big a pot built up

here it just feels like im underbetting and setting him up for him to do exactly as he does and call him down with the flush... but yeah.. that all in is for all my chips...euhhhhh... just like.. there's fullhhouses out there and higher flushs...
was it the wrong decision? was it the wrong decision considering my hand is underrepresented?

Hand 1 is a tough spot because of the multiway and stack sizes. You basically have a PSB effective on the turn so you can't price out a two street bluff with any serious fold equity. I could actually get behind a turn shove. His range is capped, and you block spades, so you can put him to a really difficult decision there.

Hand 2, if you're going to bet/fold because you're worried about a better flush or boat, then you're better off not betting at all. It's hard to see any hands you'll get value from when you bet, aside from the unlikely smaller flushes. That being said, I'm not sure I can fold when I hit my flush there.

Hand 1, we need to be 4-betting pre, and probably all-in based on stack sizes. We cover the MP+2 player and we want to isolate the BTN jam, which is going to be a range that we should be good against. MP+2 should be raising most of their premiums preflop but we'd prefer not to play this OOP and folding a hand like 88 isn't exactly the end of the world.

Hand 2, I think you have to call. Sure, villain sometimes has a boat here (although A9o and Q9o may not always flat from the SB here) and when we have the Tc and the Ac and Qc are on the board, we block a lot of the obvious SB calling hands that would have a flush here. What Kcxc and Jcxc flushes does the villain really have here, and are the super nuts like boats, quads and a royal going to jam here?

Hand 1 I would checked the turn and checked the river as played.
Hand 2 I'm getting my chips in with the flush.

H1: Easy all in preflop. As played, bluff River
H2: Snap call.

First hand is 100% a 4-bet shove when it comes back around to you preflop.

Hand 2 is a call. You literally got the result you were hoping for then folded anyway. You have a flush, and the overbet shove is not a bet from someone looking to maximize their value on the hand.
