Never bet mediocre hands on the river. You can only loose against good hands and win against hands that you beat anyway. So ... your hand isn't mediocre. Why do I say that? When your opponent follows this rule he has probably something he won't lay down against a imaginitiv flush.

If he has a jack in his hand he should check. I would even check a king when I was him. He is a decent player you said. If he played a couple of high cards he has two pair now or a straight. If he has absolutly nothing a bluff on his part would be dumb since the king completes so many draws and Kx hands. So he isn't bluffing and therefore don't hope to win this pot.

Now I take a look at the spoiler.

Any thinking player would come to the conclusion that you either have a BD floosh or air because why would you raise anything else? Also depends on your image at the table and the opponent you're dealing with.

EDIT: After looking at the spoiler, it makes sense as to why he called. He basically under repped his hand by checking it to you twice...and probably felt you'd bet KJ/KK/heart draw type hands on the turn. Prob. feels that the only hand he's losing to is QT, but even then it's doubtful that you'd raise so much w/ the flush out there.

Bad bluff. You should cbet almost 100% of your range here, especially the crappy part of the range that will never get anywhere and needs running turn cards. But if you are checking back (which is weak imo), you should be checking down and folding to any bet.
