The best thing you can do in a situation like this is just give yourself a few seconds to compose your thoughts. Dip into the time bank if you must, but make sure you take a few deep breaths and just think about what you're doing in the hand.

I don't think it's a fold, either. Care to explain your thought process behind the fold?

i seriously timed out within 20 seconds. usually in a tourny like this you get a full minute or so. but no timer or anything, i just timed out and was automatically check/folded

The prize structure is pretty top heavy in this,so I'd rather take some pretty brave gambles like this than fold to climb up the money ladder.It depends on what your goal in this tournament is...

Maybe I'm an optimist but I'd have checked and see what he did. He might have given us a free showdown with a set of kings or something.

Then again I'm an amateur with the open-fold, I don't balance it with my check-folds enough so take this advice with a grain of salt.

WTF would you need a full minute for? What would you even need 20 seconds for? Stop Hollywooding in the Sunday Lottery. Just fold and get it over with without wasting everyone's time.
