Depends where you stay. If youre not going to stay over with friends, easiest way in Germany (and I guess in Switzerland, too) would be hotels with broadband access. Just reassure yourself its really broadband and stable. Prepaid USB-Sticks for UMTS/HDSPA access are another option, but only in bigger citys. And I would make sure to have at least two of them from different providers - I live in the center of Munich and in my place T-Mobile doesnt work, O2 runs flawless. Swisscom also offers those sticks.

in germany you have 3 mobile networks. vodafone, tmobile and eplus.

tmobile and vodafone have the best coverage by far. problem is that you cant get shortterm contracts or prepaid umts mobile options with them afaik. only 12/24 month contracts.
eplus network services loads of smaller subcompanies that use the eplus network.
some of these companies offer prepaid solutions. problem is the coverage/ ****ty quality of the eplus network.
i once got the medion mobile (sold in the aldi supermarkets) 1 month flatrate for 15 eur/month cause i was visiting my grandparents over christmas.
they live in a rural area of germany and it was impossible to use the internet there. i got connection for a sec and then nothing for the next 15. couldnt even browse. not to mention playing poker.
when i switched appartements a couple months ago i used it too and had no problems with it being in hamburg (2nd biggest town in ger).

so if youre in a bigger city go the eplus route. if youre somewhere in the woods suck it up and pay a ton for a long contract with one of the major carriers.

in the latter case it could also make sense to get a prepaid/ other form of shortterm contract in another country. roaming costs are still plenty afaik but might be cheaper than paying for 24 months that you wont need.

lots of sats please, make some that arent hyper too (well hyper turbos are fine, just dont only have 1 table ones). the extreme sats were awesome, but i realize you cant make more than one of those for each event, but just lots of sats in general are good
