It is frustrating when people do it but is it good strategy to take the maximum time when you have a lot of chips in a MTT?

Hypothetical:

You are playing HU vs an opponent who open shoves every hand. Your stack is 10,000 his stack is 100. Would you rather the blinds be .5/1, 5/10, or 50/100? Would you rather play him for 10 hands or 100?

Now think how this situation applies to the MTT situation you asked about.

Should we stall with the chiplead? No. Hell No. Are you ****ing kidding me? NOOOOOO.

Ok. You shouldn't as chip leader but what about if you just have average or above average chips?
Or better question, should you ever stall?

There is no good reason to stall, except maybe the bubble of a satellite with an extremely short stack.

imo stalling is actually +ev pretty often in short stack/bubble situations, though its not +ev enough for me to be a bitch nearly as often

just for giggles, what was running through your head as you made this post?

like what was your thought process that made you think this would be a good thing to do?

believe me when I say you should listen to me more then other people here....

Yes you should stall at any time you are in the top 15 % of chips in a tournament. Max time every decision, there's nothing they can do about it and you're actually just burning money if you don't, so if you care about the $$ you're playing for, you should always be doing this unless you're just playing for fun and the money is meaningless to you

simple logic - if u stall u get less hands and minimize possibility to get good hand, bust some1 and raise ur stacksize.

Wouldn't a good player, especially a good player with a commanding stack, want to play more hands to maximize his edge rather than stall to preserve his chips?
