Hello again, one and all. The 2015 Spring Championship of Online Poker is approaching, and planning is well underway.

We've been working on the schedule for a couple of weeks now, and we're at the stage in which I'm ready to share a draft schedule with our players to get feedback on what we've come up with so far. The schedule as it stands now is below. If you're interested in doing so, please take a look and let me know what you think, either by replying within this thread, sending me a private message on TwoPlusTwo, or by sending an email to scoop at pokerstars.com. Please note that all feedback is read and considered, but it's entirely possible that not every individual piece of feedback will receive a direct response.

SCOOP 2015 will run from May 10th through May 24th (well, the Main Event will likely finish sometime late on May 25th, but the last events will *start* on May 24th), with three Events per day. We've got a few new things in mind for this year, some of which are already in the schedule, some of which we haven't included yet. As you take a look at the schedule below, I've got some questions that I'd like you to consider and let me know what you think about them.

1. We are considering putting a 3-Max tournament in the schedule (and on the regular tournament schedule on PokerStars, of course)... what do you think of this?

2. What are your opinions about a Phase Event within the SCOOP schedule? We haven't included one yet, as we have concerns about one running properly at the -H level, but I'm interested in your thoughts.

3. Generally speaking, do you think that the shootout format is overplayed, underplayed, or played just about right in SCOOP? (currently: 3 Events out of 45)

4. Omaha H/L players: FLO8 is frequently played 10-Max in ring games. Do you believe that this would be a good format for MTT play?

The schedule is below. Please note that guarantees and 2-Day Event labels will not be listed until the Events are posted to the PokerStars client, likely sometime in very late March or early April. Thank you as always for taking the time to provide feedback; this is always very much appreciated!

Nice! Something worthy to read

I think two PLO Hi turbo events are too many. Even one is, imo.

Wonder what you thought when reducing the HORSE buy-ins, but at least I get to play the -H with a substantial part of myself now. Maybe it's good to gave it like this, since the 8-Game is at the usual stakes.

Bryan, can you tell us anything about the satellites to the H-Events of Omaha and Mixed?
Will they only be offered one day before the event, or longer?

If you can't say much about it yet, could you please tell me what kind of satellites to the H events (non-nlhe) were running last year?

Theres not a single regular nlh scoop which doesn't replace a regular scheduled trny (wu/mil/Tuesday). There should be.

Also Saturdays are so weak..why? Only nl on Saturdays is heads up and shootout. There should def be some 215/320/530 nl fullring/6max on saturdays, possibly a 2day event

There are 15 9-Max NLHE tournaments on the schedule with nothing non-vanilla about them, 4 of which are in slots normally occupied by a Sunday Million or Super Tuesday. There are 3 8-Max NLHE tournaments with nothing else non-vanilla about them, 1 of which occupies the slot normally taken by the Warm-Up. That's a total of 18 full-or-nearly-full table NLHE with no turbo, rebuy, knockout (etc) elements. I'm not sure why it's relevant that they're being played at particular times; they're in the schedule, with one particular type of poker occupying a significant part (13.33%) of SCOOP overall. Could you explain, please?

Hey, would be neat if PokerStars ran some Spin & Go promotion during big tournament series (SCOOP/WCOOP) where Spin & Gos with highest multipliers award must-play tournament tickets along with normal prize money to some of the tournaments ($215, $1050, $2100 or $10300 tickets). (E.g. you bink highest on $7 Spin & Go and you get $20000 in cash + a $1050 SCOOP ticket, 2nd and 3rd get cash+$215 ticket)

Would be sort of win-win for PokerStars and tournament players. Stars gets to rake the tournament ticket again whereas in traditional "cash only payout" Spin & Go a huge fraction of that money would probably be cashed out instantly. Tournament players (or SNG, idk) who dislike playing Spin & Gos get to play softer fields. Obv the Spin & Go winners would be "losers" since they're handed a must-play ticket, but hey, they just won five figs or whatever for their <$10 investment so I don't think they'd be too mad.

Also when high buy-in tournament fields have more weaker players in form of Spin & Go ticket winners, it would incentivize other people to take a shot in the tournament as well, who would under normal circumstances skip it because the field is very tough. Again more rake for Stars. Bigger prize pools. More prestige & publicity. Win-win.

Also, what is an n-Stack tournament?

From our website...

n-Stack Tournaments

An interesting, fun variant of rebuy tournaments, in n-Stack tournaments each player’s starting chips are divided into equal-sized smaller stacks. Each player then decides how many of the available stacks he wants to start with, and how many to keep in reserve for later. A player can reload (add available remaining stacks) later. The total number of available stacks for each player is posted in the tournament lobby and is the same for all players in that event. There is no additional cost for adding an available stack.

For example, a participant in an n-Stack tournament may have 5 stacks of 1,000 chips available, for a total of 5,000 chips. At the start of the tournament, that player may choose to play with the minimum of 1 stack (1,000 chips), or can choose to add any or all of his 4 remaining stacks at that time. During the tournament, a player can choose to add remaining stacks at any time by clicking the “Add Stacks” button on the table, or “Add Chips” in the dealer tray or Options menu. These buttons will only be visible if stacks are still available. Note: Stacks will be added at the end of the current hand; they will not be in play during the current hand.

If a player loses all of their chips in play, they will be offered the option to add any remaining stacks, and will be required to add at least 1 stack. If only 1 stack remains, it will be automatically added. Once a player loses all of the chips available in all of their available stacks, they are eliminated from the tournament.

A limited amount of time will be available for players to add available stacks, as specified in the tournament lobby. Any stacks which have not been added by the end of that time will automatically be added to each player’s chip total.

You can see how many stacks a player has available by scrolling over their name in the lobby player list, or by scrolling over the “stack” symbol by their seat at the table. If no symbol appears by a player’s seat, they have used all of their available stacks.

To make sure the above is clear, if for example the tournament is a 5-Stack tournament, once you pay your initial entry of (for example) $27, that's all you're paying. You'll get 5 stacks of equal size, and you can start the tournament with 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 stacks in play. You can then bring additional stacks into play as described above, etc.

I was counting events rather than individual trnys, so yeah the sunday million becomes 3 vanilla nl trnys. The reason it seems significant (to me at least, maybe im just wrong) is that regardless of scoop running, Im going to be playing a 215 major at this timeslot every week anyway, so having it slightly bigger with a scoop title doenst make it any more exciting.

Having ADDITIONAL majors to the regular schedule would be very exciting.

While I personally love the 4max format, both that and the shootouts (in my opinion) could run on less busy days than a saturday because they arent as popular.

Instead have a big 215/320/530 (any of these buyins, for the medium, would be really successful imo) vanilla or progressive ko, making use of the fact that its saturday which generally has more traffic (im pretty sure) than weekdays.

11:00 -- SCOOP-01-M: $215 NL Hold'em [6-Max, Progressive Super-Knockout] (Sunday Warm-Up Special Edition)
11:00 -- SCOOP-01-H: $2,100 NL Hold'em [6-Max, Progressive Super-Knockout]

Many Latin American players are going to want to late register a tournament that starts this early. Making it a KO penalizes late registering much more than a regular event. Maybe you could switch this one with a later starting SCOOP from somewhere else on the schedule? Starting off the series with a weird confusing format doesn't seem like a great idea anyway.

1. We are considering putting a 3-Max tournament in the schedule (and on the regular tournament schedule on PokerStars, of course)... what do you think of this?

No. 4 Max is fine. Would table balancing also not become a major issue in a 3-Max MTT?

2. What are your opinions about a Phase Event within the SCOOP schedule? We haven't included one yet, as we have concerns about one running properly at the -H level, but I'm interested in your thoughts.

No. These have not been properly integrated to the regular MTT schedule at any meaningful buyin level. Don't do it.

3. Generally speaking, do you think that the shootout format is overplayed, underplayed, or played just about right in SCOOP? (currently: 3 Events out of 45)

More shootouts, IMO. PLO shootout, Triple Stud, and Mixed HE shootouts would be great additions.

4. Omaha H/L players: FLO8 is frequently played 10-Max in ring games. Do you believe that this would be a good format for MTT play?

Hell no, add a 6 or 8 max FLO8 event before ever going to 10-Max.

I thought by now the people at pokerstars would of put a good lineup of tournaments on saturdays during their series as its requested everytime by nearly everyone.

Saturdays very poor as usual, when i plan my schedule for days off during a coop series i can always mark saturdays as a day i wont be playing.

-4 max is very unpopular for non regs which is why the standard schedule doesnt have a 4 max tournament with a good gtd

The only reason the scoop low 4 max tournaments get good numbers is because there is no other option for recs to play a scoop event at a low buy in on the same day, run a regular holdem tournament in its place and it would probably get double the entrants.

Same goes for ante up, rubbish game type that no one is interested in during the regular schedule

Biggest error in the schedule is trying to include a little bit of everything.Personally id much prefer more standard nl holdem tournaments because they will always generate the biggest prizes.

Sundays should have 4 events with the sunday kickoff being replaced by a scoop event

-Less shootouts

-No to 3 max

-Yes to phase event but cap attempts to day 2

cut the turbos in half. Maybe have a turbo zoom of PLO and NLHE, a NLHE rebuy turbo and superstack re entry NLHE PSKO 6 max turbo.

I love ante up but for online multitabling it takes way too much concentration and focus compared to other tables. I think it is a great format for both pros and recreational players in live MTT's.

I'm sure this will be a useless point to make, but 5 pm est starts basically make the tournaments unplayable for Europeans.... It would be much better if everything started an hour or 2 earlier.

Also n stack tournaments sound incredibly stupid.

Also agree that shootout and 4max should be on weekdays and not weekends.

Think that Saturdays can be nearly as big as Sundays if given the opportunity.

Have a look in the lobbies when they run, I suspect you will see some Europeans in there.

Would be nice to have even one event per week in earlier timeslot, but I guess you want to keep the same gap between events through the series.

Change FLO8 to 6-max or at least 8-max.

I hate shootouts. Its ok to have couple of those, but please don't put more in the schedule.

Playing Stud hi/lo and PLO5 hi/lo at the same time is not the easiest thing to do. If they must be in same day at least put those in different order so more ppl can bust before the other starts.

Ante-up is not the sexiest format in the world.

NLHE/PLO was fun the last time it was in the schedule.

more 6max
make one 1k/2k NL 6max on a monday instead of a PLO turbo, could also be KO, this will attract more players than your formats on monday atm.
the saturdays look weak even though they have holdem events because e.g. the 2nd saturday is super sigh to play for regs. most people dont grind HU as much and the 4max is usually never a good tourney (not many runners etc) replace the 4max and make it 6max imo or change the days and move something nicer to saturday ( 2k 6max progressive KO or so will get a ton of players i think)

Saturdays are weak and ****, what I would give to be able to create the Saturday schedule on pokerstars

The thing that was great about TCOOP is the TCOOP events dont replace the normal sunday major events. What sucks about SCOOP is the SCOOP events do replace the Sunday big events.

Would love M-$320/$162 variants of NLHE on the Sundays that run along with the majors

why is there no triple draw or triple stud event?
scoop is only once a year, so i think these games should be represented especially triple stud only gets this one mtt per year + wcoop
