Hand History driven straight to this forum with DriveHUD Poker HUD & Database

NL Holdem $-100(BB)
UTG ($708)
HJ ($3180)
CO ($2925)
BTN ($3650)
HERO ($1055)
BB ($1982)

Dealt to Hero 6 K

UTG Folds, HJ Folds, CO Folds, BTN Folds, HERO $1005 (allin) (Rem. Stack: 0), BB Calls $955 (Rem. Stack: 927)

Flop ($2110) 8 T J

Turn ($2110) 8 T J J

River ($2110) 8 T J J 9

BB shows Q K

BB wins $2110

I think this is about the weakest Kx I will shove. Maybe fold and wait for another spot to shove given it's not even the bubble.

BBis 27/10 over 48 hands. maybe I should tighten up a bit given he's a bit loose.
Any insight is thankful.

10.5 BB.

Things to consider:

With antes, you can shove extremely wide here. Kx, almost all suited hands, connected hands like 78o. In addition, you are one of the shorter stacks already, so you should be taking any spot that's +EV.
You can also limp/mr bottom range and mix it with some premium hands, depending on the opponent.

Just because villain is 30/10 doesn't mean he is calling pushes wide. It could be that he just likes to flat/coldcall a lot or defend vs minraises, but vs pushes he will fold more than he is supposed to.
I shove very wide into random people, until I see a nash call (in that case, something like JTs, K6o, K4s, Q9s etc). If they do call nash, I don't shove wider than nash anymore (vast majority of fish and many regs don't call lose enough in those spots).

However, here villain has a bigger stack. Even though he should be calling tighter to preserve his stack, he will probably call loser now, and gamble more because he has a bigger stack than you. Therefore I would be careful with pushing here, and add more hands in my limping range (no point in raising trash vs this player because he flats so much, but you can raise any good hand).

I think shoving is by far the best play here, limping is ok (c/f flop), folding definitely not an option.

Do this and you will be fine.

If I have no reason to believe the player is decent I'm shoving Kx here, and pretty wide generally, you'll get so many folds it'll make up for the occasional call that has you beat.

If he's good though and might have spotted what you're up to (and be willing to adjust) then tighten up.

i'm shoving any king here regardless of player. not sure exactly what's the lowest Q, probably Q7.

Sometimes the BB just wakes up with a hand that is dominating you. Personally, I prefer shoving to limping this hand, because K6o isn't the kind of hand I am excited about seeing a flop with.
