does it really matter? he was a great poker player and from what people say in this thread a great person who died far to young. How he died does not change anything

I think it is kind of relevant. It appears that he took his own life (hope that i am wrong) but after trolling thru thats what i deduced. And its only relevant because he made mention of struggling with depression and the loneliness of being an online grinder etc.... as someone said earlier, there are ways to cope better and we should be more cognizant of this issue as im sure its prolly more widespread than we think!
R.I.P.

As stated earlier in the thread, anything of the like should go in the censored thread.

i haven't been around the community recently, but i just found out about this yesterday. dana had such a great demeanor in the way he talked about poker, and i learned a lot from his posts. he really did have an advanced grasp on tournament poker. i will be listening to his mix while i grind today. rip.

Feel like I've been in a cave not hearing about this earlier but wow...

He's def on my top 3 favorite players to rail. Pretty cool watching how well he controlled his table especially deep in tourneys.

I was moving to Europe the week that this happened and never heard about it. We must have played tens of thousands of SNGs together. I never knew anything about him in real life, but it saddens me deeply to know he's gone now. RIP Paresh.

9/14 is a couple of days away...
I can't believe it's been a year...I still get really, really upset when I think about him. For the first few months I literally was getting super upset daily...now I think about him once a week or so...for this entire year I have wanted to send his parents a letter to let them know what a wonderful person Paresh was, but I stop myself very time thinking that I am being too selfish and why should I bring up more sadness for them. I just don't know what's right, since I'm not a parent...I would think they would want to hear how much he was loved, but a the same time I realize they are probably trying to move on with their lives...
I still cannot delete his number from my phone, or the text messages. I also cannot unfollow him on twitter. I re-read our conversations on text and FB about once every 2 months and I cry every time.

Sending the letter would be fine IMO.

It's not like they can trick themselves into forgetting about him. They will think about him daily, no matter what, for the restof their lives.

Something like that would probably make them happy to read.

I lost a 22 year old cousin a few years ago and from that experience, my auntie and uncle loved hearing my cousins friends talk about him or show that they remember him.

Understanding each person is different but I think its most likely they would love hearing someone is still thinking about their son other than them, because they would still be thinking about him every day.

Was watching some old spacegravy videos with Paresh. Talked about how Dana suddenly came on the scene 20-tabling high stakes sngs. Gravy kept saying Dana must be a banned stars regs new account lol. Man Paresh was a legend such a sad story.
