So I was playing in a two table tourney where the following hand happened. I started the hand with 3900 in chips and the blinds were 400/800 and I was in the big blind. The villian in the SB had maybe 4500 in chips. The table folds around to the small blind who instantly raises me to 2000. I had been the tightest player at the table by far and he had made the same raise the cycle before and I folded, so his range here is very wide to me. I look at A9o and I decide to push knowing I likely have him beat. He ends up calling a turning over K10o and busts me out of the tournament. So was this really a spot I should have pushed? I knew I was only a marginaly ahead but the play was six hand and I only would have had 4BB left if I folded. Anyones's thoughts?

How many people left in the tourney? I assume 4 spots paid. What place were you and what were the other stacks like? On a basic level, the call seems fine to me, but in a sng all these other things matter.

I think there were 12 people left. As far as stack size there was one guy with like 9k and everyone else was 3-5k.

In that case, I would say it's a call 100% of the time.

One last question I thought of...would it have been better if I did a stop and go(just call his raise then push on the flop)?
