Hey all, played the $600 Venetian bounty today. Had a spot that was kinda rough but wanna hear thoughts on my preflop line?

I moved to new table- younger kid with prolly an aggro image I assume I give off. I open to 1600 at 800bb level from ep. 3rd hand at table. I started hand with 65k. Button 3! To 6.5k- is a kid that won a wpt so very good player- I’ve seen he crushes online. He had 30-35k to start. Sb is a Russian chick that I’ve seen on blogs so prolly good. She has me covered- let’s guess 80k-100k. She 4! To 18k. Comes back to me. I think flatting is best so I just call. Her range should be hella nutty obv. Button jams 30-35k. She ships. I snap. She has AQo lol and he has JJ. A on turn. Do you like how I flatted the 4!? I see no point to rip as sprs are going to be so low in a bounty event. A on turn for max pain lol- and a 160k + potential pot at 800 bb level where I’m going to crush most of the field. Super soft event.

Punted 1-2 times in small field $300 Venetian bounty events where I go who cares. I’m 1/18 in cashes lol. I know standard but hurts. I didn’t cash last summer at wsop over a bunch of tournies and now I’m 1/18 ugh. I feel I’m playing very well as I haven’t really punted in like 95% of events in bad spots. I won 50k week before betting derby week so it’s all good bc I need some gambling write offs. Won a wsop circuit event earlier this year for biggest score for like 36-37k so can’t complain.

Yea I had KK. Hopefully this doesn’t sound like a complain post. I posted last night at a bar drinking haha. Hmm I just thought to ask bc I’ve never seen a cold 4! Live really against me when I have AA or KK.

It was a really odd spot. I find it odd villian ripped after I flat 18k bc I feel my range is QQ+ there. I was like uh oh it looks like I ran into AA when she rips over the button jam. Obv never folding but thought her range would be lik AK+ QQ+

Seems that the player with AQo is super spewy. Maybe these players have some history or something. But I guess after she 3 bets to 18K, she has to call it off. In these small tournaments a lot of players will make ridiculous preflop calls. If this were a larger buy-in tournament I would expect you to have QQ+ but I guess in a $600 buy-in sometimes they see players with something much weaker.

It wasn’t the chick who studied with Erik Seidel. It was some chick that went super deep last year at Venetian in a mspt. I could say name but blah won’t. She’s prolly decent per her results but this hand made me think she punts a lot in stupid spots. Like I assume she’s ok per her results on Hendon but who knows- she might just light a lot of money on fire.

Hand as stated- yikes. Idk what hand I’m opening utg and flatting a 4! when button looks likely to potentially jam. AK might be worst hand if that. I know live players punt etc but flatting a 4! From utg seems hella strong. I won’t bash her here or in person bc I can see how someone would jam AQo in a bounty tourny to collect the money but for what? Idk but running 65bbs against a range like jj+ with AQo seems comically bad- like spewing money left and right. I’m prolly a little nitty in spots but idk.
