Despite being the main whiner here I wouldn't berate it straight away based on the information released so far about the new format but I fully expect it to be horrible rake wise and not beatable at all. So just wait with the critique so that it doesn't look particularly silly.

I would think that this and BTC and even Spins would be a good format if it was raked "correctly"

the tournaments changed from SKO to PKO got way better, 82 and 44 turbos became very nice

Yeah I saw that last night as well and wondered wtf that was all about.

Few Things

1) Why all the hate for Luke? He's the Pokerstars ambassador, it's his job to be a conduit for information between the admin and player base. Sure, he has some influence in which ideas get considered and which do not, but he's hardly the one making all the decisions. Just because Pokerstars has made some really ****ty changes, doesn't mean we need to **** all over the messenger.

2) A much better way to show your displeasure: create an account on 888, party, winamax or any of the other multitude of options for online poker, and play there. The structures on 888 and Party play deeper in a lot of the formats, and every 2nd tournament is not (yet) a PKO. The player bases aren't as large, so the tournaments are lower variance. A bit less ROI perhaps, but way less swings. Sure, not the same guarantees, and no Dneg/Rinaldo/Nadal to bring in the new players, but no huge rake to pay for all the marketing either.

I certainly won't complain if some regs leave the Pokerstars player pool so that I can mess around with all the fun players getting 150bb in preflop on the first lvl of a PKO because they have AQo and want (half of) my bounty...

3) I will miss the SKOs, and it does seem that Pokerstars mainly changed them for rake reasons, which sucks. However, more than 2x the guarantee seems to be popping up in every single one now, which I will hardly complain about.

4) Online poker players are so entitled, and want to whine about everything that has changed. I will be the first to say that I am not a fan of pretty much anything that's happened at Pstars since Amaya took the reigns but... I'm still making a better living sitting in front of my computer than I could anywhere else with my education/experience, and I don't even have to wear pants if I don't want to. I can't hate on any company that provides me with such an opportunity.

5) Maybe you're just mad because the games have gotten tougher. It's much easier to blame rake changes, structure changes, loss of rakeback, etc. for your breakeven winrate, than to look in the mirror and realize your game may just not be good enough to win like you used to. It's a lot easier to whine than to get in the lab and put in the work off the table to start crushing again.

Not to say the changes aren't really bad, and that Pstars handled some of them (*COUGH*Bring Back SN/SNE*COUGH*) really poorly, but grow up. Pokerstars doesn't owe anyone anything (except the promised VIP rewards that went POOF).

They are a company, they are in it to make money. As much money as they can. End of story.

That being said... If you guys manage to screw up SCOOP I am done. So yes, same as last year more or less please.

i think its time for $162/wtb to be changed to a different tournament. peak time zone, hasn't taken off at all.

With some of the overly long tournament names it is not possible to see the blinds in the table title, especially when using a smaller table size. This has been an issue for a while, and some tournaments are worse than others. The one in the image is kind of ridiculous though.

Sounds like a really cool idea actually. I'm sure there's plenty of people who would like to play MTG or HS for money. Any game with edge can be competitive and profitable if rake is reasonable.
