Can somebody explain how bounties in PKO work? I feel so dumb. Watching streamers it seems like it says they earned double in bounties what they actually did.

Bencb just now took 2nd in a $530 PKO and before he busted he had ~$3k bounty over his name. But when it ended it said ~$6k In bounties earned.

Wouldn’t he have only kept $3k? Rather than $6k?

Yes. You pocket half of the bounties you win. So the ~3k over his name would be what he would keep and ~6k would be the amount he won.

Note that the actual bounty amount that he lost at the end would be the ~6k that he had "earned" plus the original bounty that he started with.

Typically if you chop the tournament at the end you keep all of the bounties you won.

when u eliminate someone u get half of whats on their head, and the other half goes on your head.

place 1st = win 100% of your own bounty plus 100% of your opponents bounty.

So at the end of the tournament when it said he “won $6k in bounties” he actually only kept $3k, correct?

that would mean his starting bounty was 3k, and he took out 2 players with 3k on their heads. he would have 6k over his head after banking 3k. if eliminated at that point he would show 3k in bounties won.

But it was a $530 so his starting was prob $125 or something.

Again over his head it said $3k and when he took second the pop up said $25k + $6k In bounties. I don’t understand lol

It's progressive knock out right, so as you play your bounty increases every time you knock some one out, something where half the bounty posted goes into your account and the other half goes towards your bounty, so when you're knocked out a player will get more than what was started with. Towards the end of the tourney it becomes insanely valuable to knock out players as someone who's knocked out a number of players has increased their bounty up significantly more than what they started with.

Hope that helps? I personally don't know the numbers all that well but I believe I understand the concepts.

The bounty over his name is the bounty for busting him. It is not indicative of any other bounties he has won.
