Early in the Daily Big $5 on GG. I did have one hand of history with this villain: on the hand right before this, I opened AQ, this villain 3b me, I called and then x/folded a Kxx flop.

GG Poker - 125/250 Ante 30 NL (8 max) - Holdem - 8 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

BB: 40.52 BB
UTG: 38.36 BB
UTG+1: 45.08 BB
MP: 53.3 BB
Hero (MP+1): 91 BB
CO: 37.32 BB
BTN: 40.08 BB
SB: 41.2 BB

8 players post ante of 0.12 BB, SB posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 2.46 BB) Hero has J J

fold, fold, fold, Hero raises to 2.6 BB, CO raises to 5.13 BB, fold, fold, fold, Hero raises to 16.66 BB, CO calls 11.53 BB

Since the guy 3b on the hand prior, I thought he might be screwing with me. So rather than flat the 3b and risk x/folding a bad flop for the second hand in a row, I decided to play back.

Flop: (35.77 BB, 2 players) T T A
Hero ???

Now I'm in a pickle. His range is strong but capped since he didn't shove pre, so we can probably remove QQ-AA and AK from his range. But he can certainly have a handful of Ax hands and some Tx too. But stack sizes are awkward because he left himself with only 57% of pot behind. I clearly can't fold out any better hands with a shove, but can I get called by worse? Or does he bluff enough if I check to him? Maybe check and pray we can check it to showdown?

You can make your life a lot easier if you 4bet shove instead of using this halfway size. A non-all-in 4bet might make some sense if you had position (leverage that positional advantage postflop), or if you were deeper. But in this spot, it's much easier to simply shove.

I checked your line on GTO Wizard at 50bb effective. This stack depth has non-all-in 4bets. It looks like it's range betting ATTr for a *very* small size, something like 10% pot.

A typical line it takes here is something like 10-25% flop bet, 10-25% turn bet, shove river. Although JJ can give up at some point.

Yeah GTO virtually always cbets tiny after a non allin 4bet, something around 10% is so common it’s one of the easiest decisions to make.

I'm having a hard time interpreting those outputs. Being colour-blind doesn't help.

I went with the smaller 3b because if he was just screwing with me, I didn't want to give him an opportunity to fold all his bluffs and call with the top of his range.

With 37bb effective I dont think we want to have to many non allin 4bets... Particularely not with JJ since this hands benefits a lot from protection and denying equity.
Maybe we can 4b small with KK+ and KQo, A9s as bluffs but this seems unnessecary in 5$ tourney.

He's not calling 1/3 of his remaining stack preflop with his bluffs, either.
