I ran a sim on my solver for EP vs LP SRP 40 bb. I gave a flop bet sizes of 30,60,100, 120%. I see some spots where the solver prefers to bet 100-120%. Is this something I can follow in live MTTs?

Probably not in practice, but only because your game tree is too complicated.

The difference in 100% and 120% ranges are going to be very arbitrary and I imagine the solver just kind of randomly chooses between the two when it wants to bet big.

Id suggest a two size game tree on the flop. One small, one large. The specific sizes dont really matter there just needs to be a true distinction between them. And if you want to sprinkle in a 1.5x or 2x overbet then go for it, but I just use overbets on the river when our range is very polarized.



But if your question is "Can I sometimes bet really big on the flop instead of the standard 25% or 33% bet" then the answer is absolutely yes.

Yeah, I think the diff between 100% and 120% is arbitrary. Take out the 100 and see how often the solver chooses 120 over 60.

Confused on what you mean by the bolded text, it shouldn't matter if OP has multiple sizings solved OTF? Instead do you mean turn and river sizings need to be adjusted to include more?

In theory it shouldnt matter and more size options give you a more accurate solution.

However, in practice, its much easier to accurately implement a strategy with fewer bet sizes.


What I was saying is that it really doesn't matter if you choose 25%/75% or 40%/100% as your bet sizes. You just need to distinguish between a small bet and a large bet.

If you try to solve a flop for 25%/33%/50%/66%/100%, then the solution will involve so much random mixing that its nearly impossible to implement even close to accurately.
