Hi folks,

I've been a cash game player for most of my poker experience. I've started playing tournaments last month, starting with a live MTT ($225 buy in) where I placed 13th/65 (ITM top 8). Since then, I've been studying MTT more thoroughly and was able to reach the final table in 3 online tournaments (1st/6xx, 2nd/500, 4th/300) for GGPoker's Daily Hyper's $5/$5/$30.

I feel like I've reached the stage where I'm relatively comfortable with the daily hyper tournaments, knowing when it jam and navigate short stacks. But since these tournaments are 2 hours, I'm wondering how I can translate this to my next live MTT which I am suspecting will be around 8 hours.

What are some general tips that can enable me to translate well from online MTT hyper's to a live MTT (8hours+)? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The biggest advice for cash players transitioning to MTTs is to study your short stack ranges. You will rarely if ever be 100BB deep in a tournament.

If you've got that down, then the other advice, especially playing live, is to stay patient. Don't force action because you're bored. You get hands live at about half the rate you get them online. Use that time to study the other players at your table and develop reads on them. Observe every hand. Develop exploitative plays based on what you observe.
