The UTG player raised to 1,200 and the action was folded around to the blinds. The small blind accidentally exposed {A-?} {3-?} as he mucked, and Isaac Haxton called from the big blind.

The flop came down {J-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds} {3-Clubs}. Haxton checked, the UTG player raised to 2,000, Haxton moved all in for 9,650 and the UTG player called.

The hands?

UTG {K-Hearts} {10-Spades}
Haxton {A-Clubs} {K-Clubs}

The turn was the {3-Hearts}, which would have made the small blind quads. The river was the {Q-Diamonds} and Haxton raked in the pot, increasing his stack to 24,000.
AHAHAHA

-) LOL @ openraising 6xBB
-) LOLOL @ calling the shove on the flop with K-high no draw.

what are those guys doing??
07-03-2009 , 08:20 PM
really, 2 levels, dinner break, 2 levels?
07-03-2009 , 08:23 PM
does anyone else think just having no dinner break would be much more practical?

no dinner break or 5 levels ffs
07-03-2009 , 08:32 PM
So I'm alone in liking the change to four levels? I could go without the dinner break though

I think it's ridiculous, but it's probably beneficial for old guys flying in the day before from the East Coast like me.

i think it's pretty ridiculous. Playing 4 levels, then waiting 4 days to play again? That's dumb.

Day 1A Official Numbers

We've just received word that the official number of entrants for Day 1A is (drumroll please...) 1,116 entrants.

By comparison, 1,297 players entered the Main Event on Day 1A in 2008, 1,287 played Day 1A in 2007 and 2,138 played Day 1A in 2006.

I wonder if this number includes those that unregistered when they walked to the table and didn't like the line-up?

Are they allowing that?

My good friend and co-host (and 2p2er) Jason "JDLade" Lademan has 55k and some ESPN camera time last I heard. Extra special good luck to him and Wes (w33ktight). Normal-type good luck to all other 2p2ers.

With tables continuing to break fast, we have found Jerry Yang being moved to Johnny Chan's table.

Only a few hands since arriving, Yang opened with a raise to 900 before Steve Paul-Ambrose made it 2,550 to go.

The crowd started to gather as Yang cut down the chips to make the call and threw in the necessary amounts before checking the {2-Spades}{K-Clubs}{8-Hearts} flop.

Paul-Ambrose splashed the pot with a bet amounting 8,500 to effectively put Yang all in.

"I'm all in" announced Yang as a brigade of cameras and media came rushing to his table like a replica of the running of the bulls.

With Yang only all in for 5,300, Paul-Ambrose took back a few chips and rolled over his {9-Clubs}{9-Spades}.

"This is the hand I won the World Series with" announced Yang as he stood up and rolled the {8-Clubs}, followed by the {8-Diamonds}.

As Yang leaned over the table, he would see the {K-Hearts} peel on the turn to give Paul-Ambrose an additional two outs, but when the river landed the {5-Spades} Yang screamed out "YES!!!" to double to 17,000 and change.
Jerry plays good!

Yang just got knocked out, which is good for him so he doesn't have to act this silly for another year.

Yellowsub was at my 2nd table with a lot of chips (close to 100k during level 3)

at first table my best hand is 88, get A9 once and otherwise nothing much, only big hand:

I missed T8cc on 793cc and 3 barreled Q turn and A river, he raised river

new table is super aggro with yellowsub, mr renney (some 10-20 plo player that had played with sub before), this other guy with a full tilt patch thats talking with sub a lot and seemed good. I pick up aces once and kings twice and make basically nothing with them. my only 3b is lightish and i get 4b.

I checkraised A4 on 23J after flatting from blinds, picked up a fd on 3 turn, ck/ck, river blank i bet, he calls with J9 and the same fd. i feel pretty meh about this whole hand.

I raise KQ with about 13k, terrible laggy foreign dude flats with 8.5k or so, JT9 flop, i bet, he ships AJ, i lose and am down to ~4.5k

fold through blinds, get A7s on btn, older dude who has actually been somewhat aggressive raises HJ, I ship a little over 4k, he calls A9, 9 in door, gg main event

Or he made quads.
07-04-2009 , 01:03 AM
I think we would have heard about benza having to suffer the awarding of the jerky in that case.
