is there a proper way to stack your chips? really tall? stout like a pyramid kinda thing? do you always put them in groups of 10 or 20 or 50 or something?

always wondered about this but a recent slide show of pictures and all the different shapes of stacks had me curious

the couple of times i've played live i've always fumbled with stacking my chips and it makes me feel ******ed lol

This was also my experience until very recently. There just seems to be a new breed of ultra aggressive young Frenchies. I mean obviously sample size is a bit of an issue here.

This is the number one thing that tilts me live. People who don't stack their chips in an orderly fashion. I'd say stacking your chips in twenties is the most courteous and easy to count manner, but if you want to tilt the hell out of someone like me just riffle all the different colours together and stack them as tall as you can.

I absolutely hate these people. I make it a point to 3b them more.

Psyco, 20 is "standard", just make sure that you aren't hiding your big chips in the back of your stack and try to keep them as close to neatly in 20 stacks and you'll be fine.

Called Harrah's and they said that due to spacing issues they had to have one table with players sitting in each other's laps. When I questioned this policy, they said that poker is a game of adaptation and they couldn't have anticipated this many players registering in the last two days.

Anybody know the chipstack of the guy who came to play day 1d only to find out he was supposed to play 1a?

He should have a stack - even if they were playing 1 minute per hand (pretty fast, imo) he'd have 9k left. Odds are they were slower than that, so he should have some to work with...

OT
07-07-2009 , 02:55 PM
A friend and I guessed he'd have around 14k or so. Luckily he didn't play 200/400/50 because that would've taken an extra ~7k.

I played with Bobby Baldwin in the ME in 2007. He was solid, pretty tight, nuthin' tricky. Nice guy to talk to - as old as the hills. Sheiky gave him a big wad of cash at the table while we were playing, fwiw.

fwiw why no new thread for every day like last year? think this should be better then creating such a long thread!?

be so sick if a 2P2er won this 1 time.

The poster who's on the Raymer/Alexander table might get some TV time. Did the sites offer you some scrilla to wear patches, etc? I guess you're too busy actually playing to answer right now.

BOOM!

"All in and a call!" yelled the dealer over at table 240 in the Brasilia room. Mark Landgraf was all in holding {A-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds} against Alexander Yaroshetskiy's {A-Hearts} {J-Hearts}.

With a dominating position in the hand, Landgraf improved to trip queens on the flop of {K-Hearts} {Q-Hearts} {Q-Spades}. Yaroshetskiy did pick up a royal flush draw though.

The turn hit the {Q-Clubs}, giving Landgraf quads and leaving Yaroshetskiy drawing to only one out. The poker gods must have been looking down on Yaroshetskiy today because the {10-Hearts} landed on the river giving him the royal flush! The table erupted and one player even fell back out of his chair as he was leaning back in it.

Yaroshetskiy is now up to 240,000 and Landgraf dropped all the way to 14,300.
another Quads vs. Royal Flush!
