12.6k at end of day one, confirmed busto

also, yay for 10 handed for short stackers like me

i wonder how long it will take to drop 300 people from the tournament on day 2b? Guess you can estimate how many people drop on day 2a beginning with level 6 but it's messed up they have been so disorganized...it's their signature event and the uncertainty of everything the last few days is more than disappointing.

wow 10 handed wtf

Another fold and the action was back with Arieh. With around 85,000 chips in front of him, Arieh considered gambling but made a disciplined fold, flashing A K
Yeah this was obv reported incorrectly- I was at the table, the dude wasnt all in- he 4bet to 11,500 but had another 20k behind. Arieh and the same player had gotten AIPF an orbit or so before when the other player had ~50 BBs and they both had AKo and ended up chopping, (he doubled up shortly thereafter before this hand came up so now he had over 100 BBs)

This guy can't be broke, can he really? Always a nice guy to have at your table. A bit surprised he did all his dough over the past couple of years.

31.6k at the end of day1C....had Howard Lederer on my table...cam/mic kept coming and it was annoying, not like he's any good or something. He's actually pretty horrible that day at my table.

+1 for the 10 handed hating camp...wtf is that.

For those that are asking about chip counts, they're not up yet. Yesterday, they were up around 9am ET.

Looks like 1902 made it through day 1d, so there will be over 3000 playing Wednesday.

Updating numbers:

Day 1a 2009 - 821 of 1116 remaining - 73.56% of field remaining
Day 1b 2009 - 655 of 873 remaining - 75.03% of field remaining
Day 1c 2009 - 1,106 of 1,696 remaining - 65.21% of field remaining (1 additional level played)
Day 1d 2009 - 1,902 of 2,809 remaining - 67.71% of field remaining (1 additional level played)

Totals:

4,484 of 6,494 remaining

Day 2a - 1,476 remaining
Day 2b - 3,008 remaining

Yes, that says it all after today's debacle.

There will be 10-handed play afterall, and a 301st table needing to be dug out of storage. Maybe those fortunate 8 will get to play on the Wheel of Fortune Big Wheel for the first 15 or so minutes.

May hellfire and fury commence and continue.

Wow, just noticed the chipleader from 1d (Troy Weber) finished with almost 12x the starting stack. Sick heater.

They have 312 tables (sticking people in the poker room and Buzios), because ALMOST everyone playing yesterday was at a nine-handed table.

The following got seated in a 10 seat:

Jeppe Nielsen Amazon Green 143/10
Joe Reitman Amazon Green 144/10
Marco Bertaccini Amazon Green 145/10
Dale Poynter Amazon Green 146/10

Oh, so they could have accommodated 3,120 entrants by playing 10-handed instead of just 3,000, after ending Day 1d 109 players over the this morning's - not initial cap, as that was the 3,000 - secondary cap of 2,700?

Harrah's, at its finest.

I'm sure those who played on day 1d would not have wanted to play 10-handed when the other three day 1's were played 9-handed.

And the same goes for those who are playing tomorrow, when there will be several tables playing 10-handed.

How is this fair, how can they allow this to happen?

Isn't this quite clearly denying everyone a level playing field, and making it more difficult for some to collect chips?

Joke, imo.

Day 1d Chip counts

About 125 tables will start 10-handed.
07-07-2009 , 09:44 AM
Hang on, 353k - Really? How on earth did that happen?

Or is this Dantes striking again under a different name.

Weber won a pretty big hand towards the end of the night.

Spreadsheet states 1,816 survived Day 1d, not the 1,902 that was reported by Pokernews and other outlets at the end of day's play. That would leave the total entrants for Day 2b at 2,922.

With that, there looks to be one other straggler that survived that went unreported in media, leaving the total remaining at 4,399.

2809 is now the figure being reported for day 1d.

Thanks Kevmath

Also the 335k guy had this hand:

Pot's 15k going into the flop. He check-calls 7k w/ T8ss on J83. Check-raises 11k to 30k on 8 turn then goes into the tank when guy shoves ~ 85k total. Then calls and guy has QQ and Weber holds.

ez game.

I'm assuming this was at 200-400 50a, too.

Unreal chippage for this early on.
