Busto right after the first break, fml.

I wrote this thing up for someone who bought a piece of me if anyone is interested in the only 4 interesting hands I played.

I got up to 37k early when I limped AJ in EP, the SB raised and we saw a Axx two spade flop 4 way. They checked to me and the button called my bet of 1100, and the others folded. I bet 2200 on the blank turn, then check called his 4k on the river when the flush missed. It was pretty funny, it was so obvious he was drawing, it was like he had binoculars on staring at the turn and river.

Anyway I was seeing a lot of flops so at the first break I had 33k. Then after the break (100/200 blinds) a stupid old man limps in EP, button raises to 800, I call in the BB with AQd and the old man calls. Flop is Q22 and we chk to button, he bets 1200 into 2700, I call and the old man raises to 3k total. The button thinks a bit and calls, and I'm like god this is gay, but I call. The turn is a blank and I check, the old man bets 1k into like 12k, the button makes it 4k and I disgustedly fold. The old man calls, then on the river blank check calls a 5k bet (with only 2k left behind) and the old man has 32 vs the button's AA to win.

Shortly after this young kid opens the hijack to 600, I flat the button with QQ and the old man calls in the BB. The flop is JT6 two spades, old man chks, kid bets 1100 into 1900, I call, old man makes it 3k, kid folds, and I figure my hand is a little under-repped, and the old man didn't make a small raise this time so I figure I'll reevaluate on the turn. The turn is the A of spades, he checks his holecards and bets 2k into 9k, and I resignedly call (I don't have a spade). The river is a 4th low spade, and he plays with his chips awkwardly for 5 seconds then awkwardly checks, so I figure he never has a good flush here and will fold most of his range that could be beating me so I bet 6k and he MINRAISES. I fold, and he shows TT for flopped 2nd set, and only the 3rd nut flush on the river...The sick thing is I might have folded the Qs to that minraise, if I had it.

Anyway I still have 19k left, then utg+2 makes it 600, the kid makes it 1650 and I look down at KK in the SB and make it 5200, utg+2 folds and the kid thinks and shoves with AK, I call and he turns an Ace...busto.

the old man must be related to Jamie Gold

Oops...
It's not a good day to be Leroy Soesman, he turned up today fully expecting to play on Day 1d of the main event and live the dream of winning the main event.

Except there was one slight problem.

He had bought in for day 1a instead.

Unsure if he has actually got through the day, Soesman is now working with a couple of members of staff to see if his stack made it through the day

Interesting that he said "today". Leaving the door open for a possible 1E in the near future?

Just come from the meeting at 2.30 in the Pavilion, where Jeffrey Pollack gave us a load of corporate bs about being sorry for the mismanagement and they would learn for next year. Mike Sexton had proposed the solution of playing four levels from 5p.m and those people going into 2a tomorrow which we were all happy about. The excuse given for not allowing this was for "operational reasons" which we later found out meant that they didn't want more than the 300 people they could have accomodated turning up, including people who had not stuck around and had given up earlier in the day. This is bull**** in my opinion. We would all have been happy with a 300 cap which would have taken it to the 3000 that they originally envisaged. There is absolutely no reason why they couldn't have done this.

Why didn't they temporarily suspend 1d registration like they did last year to fill up the other days?

I was at the Rio last night playing sattys, with the buy in with me and there were no signs up anywhere saying it was selling out.

The other rumour was that Erick Lindgren had turned up after the 3 a.m sold out time and got in.

Some of the people I met down there who missed out:

Richard Ashby (Chufty)
DJ Sensei
Minh Ly

if anyone thinks we live in a fair and just world, well, then I have a bridge by my apartment that I can sell you very cheap!

why is anyone surprised by some preferential treatments? they are super stars people...they always get such treatments...not fair, but oh well, that's life, isn't it?

Ah this makes sense.

They can upset X amount of people or X-300. Obviously makes sense to do the former.

Is there any reason why you had the money in your hand but decided not to register last night?
