For those wondering about the Cantu hand, just found it:

Cantu Cannot Bluff His Opponent

In a big blind versus blind battle, Brandon Cantu check-raised his opponent to 8,500 on a flop of {A-Spades} {J-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds}. The player than reraised to 18,800. Cantu asked for a count on his opponent's stack and got an approximate amount. He then moved all in and was met with a call after the slightest of hesitations from the player.

"God damnit!! F**k!! F**k!!" yelled Cantu as he smacked his fist on the felt in front of his chips. he then tabled nothing but king high with {K-Spades} {8-Spades}. His opponent held {J-Spades} {J-Clubs} for a flopped set.

The turn brought the {Q-Hearts} before Cantu pleaded, "Ten! Ten!" It wouldn't come though when the {A-Hearts} hit the river to give his opponent a full house.

The total amount owed was 49,100 owed to his opponent and Cantu shipped it on over as he sat completely upset with the hand. He was left with just 10,000 chips.

Awesome.

Sorry 'bout the beat, Craig. Good read on your part. Better luck next year.

The main event is so brutal for you guys, but sweating it down the stretch can be pretty exciting, especially if you've got friends in the tourney...

Edit: Matt Savage micro-stacked, but no indication of what happened to his chips earlier. I hope they didn't all go to Doug Lee...

I basically want to say **** whatever algorithm determined to put me at the same table as multiple supernova elites, urindanger, and no players over the age of 30. Also, **** whoever decided to move Adam Junglen to the spot where one of the supernova elites busted.

Anyone know where the table draws for day 2a are located?

They have to give you the money. It's your money and they're legally obligated to have a bunch of cash on hand at the bank. You should not have any problem if you go to a decent bank branch. There's one on maryland in campus that should be big enough and there's one on tropicana near Wynn Road that should be big enough to have that cash on hand.

Also, anyone who thinks they're not playing 10 handed tomorrow is CRAZY.

Estimate chance of them denying anyone the chance to play the main event is like 2%. Gary Wise agrees, there's no way they lock anyone out of playing the biggest poker event of the year. It's the worst PR in the world.

Man, I hope so. I've been on hold for about 20 minutes. I'm not even sure what I'm going to ask them when I get through. The worst part of this is, I won't be able to sleep at all tonight because I'll be all agitated.

Oh well, at least I have peppermints for tomorrow and I get a day off if I make day 2.

I feel for you dude. Don't know your exact situation but I have this clear vision of you frantically flooring it across the desert in some beat up old ****box car, driving 24 hour days while watching some clickometer on your cell phone giving you the ME registration count. 2338, 2339, 2340. click, click, click......

Hope it doesn't end with you running out of gas 2 miles from vegas and having to run the last leg on foot just to have some old duck slam the 'registration closed' sign on the counter just as you collapse face first into the counter with your 10k in your outstretched hand.

Good luck...I feel your pain for some strange reason. I'm tense.

10 handed is your penalty for not being patriotic and playing on July 4th.

also- quit your bitching and think about double the amount of chips in play 2B vs 2A
07-06-2009 , 03:54 AM
79k to end day 1. I played really well I think except for one river fold I shouldve made but got curious. I am pretty sure I wouldn't change any decisions other than that one. Ready for day 2!
07-06-2009 , 03:54 AM
42k to finish day 1.
07-06-2009 , 03:55 AM
2570 in for 1d when i registered 30 mins ago...anyone know if there is a cap?? my friend still has to register. thx
07-06-2009 , 04:08 AM
i dont think they will play 10handed on 1D since they didnt on the first days. I could see a 1E with the media day being removed, but I highly doubt it since max a few hundred people would be locked out. Next year they should really push this off till July 5th for 1A to avoid having people not playing because of the 4th.
