Anybody sitting with Sean Dorn?

seems like that most of the pros who got shut out of 1D didn't get to play through some loop-hole or favoritism... that is both surprising and at the same time kudos to the WSOP for playing it fair for all the rest of John Does who were shut out as well...

Chorny Awarded Controversial Pot

Some controversy has erupted just before the break on Glen Chorny's table.

Chorny limped in from middle position before a late position player raised it up to 800 to go. The blinds folded and suddenly the dealer dropped the deck, pushed the pot to the late position player and mucked his cards as Chorny was sitting there with live cards!

The floor was called over to make a ruling and the lead supervisor had to be called.

At this point Chorny said that he was happy to forfeit the pot but wanted his 300 chips back that he had put into the pot.

The table appeared to be satisfied with this arrangement but the lead supervisor ruled that you need live cards in order to receive the pot. It was ruled that the late position player would receive his 500-chip raise back, however the 300-chip call would stay in the pot which was then given to Chorny.

Everyone at the table disagreed with this ruling as it was dealer neglect which caused the problem in the first place.

However they were reminded that it is a player's responsibility to protect his cards at all times and unfortunately his ruling stood, much to the surprise of an apologetic Chorny.

Please tell me you didn't take the view that..."I was going to spend 10k on the main event, (a crap shoot) so I may as well 'gamble it up' with a few thousand"

Disclaimer: I would have done the same, and would be at the 3-card poker or Pai-Gow tables.

Hahaha, no not at all. $75 to $200 sng's and MTTs are my standard everyday level. I usually 6-8 table, but I happened to be 10 tabling at the time since a bunch of them started like right on top of each other, and I also happened to be on the bubble of a bunch of SNGs (hence the ~$2k in equity that I lost)

Playing in all the Bellagio Cup tourneys might be a little spewy, but as life-tilted as I am right now, I have been playing pretty solid poker all night. (when I was able to play, that is).

Plus, I took a few minutes to reflect that I'm actually running like insanely good at life up until yesterday, and that in the grand scheme of things, it's really not the end of the world. I mean however awful not getting to play is (and trust me it was awful) it has to be less bad than getting a bad beat or cooler.

I just got kind of life tilted because everything was piling up and I got frustrated like anyone would.

P.S. - as I type this, just won two coin flips in MTTs that I'm somehow close to moneying despite missing 45 minutes of game time.

Durrrr Degeneracy

As most people know Tom 'durrrr' Dwan loves getting involved in any action he can find - whether it be while playing or away from the table.

Currently in the second hour of a massage, Dwan started ordering drinks once returning from the break . . . and hasn't stopped.

Recently he challenged fellow high stakes online player Matthew Marafioti to a drinking prop bet that revolved around Marafioti putting down ten shots of Patron in 15 minutes without throwing up.

If he succeeds then Dwan will pay him $5,000, but if he doesn't then he owes Dwan the same amount.

The shots have been ordered, delivered and are now waiting patiently on an adjacent table.

Stay tuned for the result . . .

Worried Tournament Director?

With Matthew Marafioti accepting the bet he has already began taking the Patron.

One Tournament Director came over and expressed his concern at the potential of Marafioti being sick on the floor and resulting in a table move and a very substantial disturbance to play in the Miranda Room.

Tom Dwan however comforted the Tournament Director a little when he confirmed that he would donate $5,000 to the charity of the Tournament Director's choice, and in his name, if Marafioti happens to be . . . sick.

The score board at the moment . . . 7 shots down, 3 to go, and all done in just 4 minutes so far!

Game . . . Set . . . Match?

It took 11 minutes and 41 seconds for Matthew Marafioti to finish all ten shots, but the real question is whether or not he can keep them down.

With just under an hour remaining in the day, you would expect Marafioti to quiet down and try and keep fairly reserved so as to win the bet.

However Marafioti has sparked up even more, chatting more and more to the table and especially Tom Dwan . . . even calling him a fish at one point.

"Fish, fish, fish, nit, fish, fish" he stated as he pointed from seat one (Dwan) around the table back to him.

Marafioti is handling himself in the poker department fairly well at the moment with 61,500 in chips in comparison to Dwan's 21,600 - hopefully he can hold onto them . . . and the Patron as we wind up play for the night.

FWIW, I only played one of the 2k events the other day and I saw at least two of the worst plays I've ever seen in any tournament anywhere.

I'll probably play the 2k and 3k events the next few days too then head back home.
