ended at 61,275. I spewed down to 13 or 14k early and got really lucky to not get in any semi-cooler spots to bust. It sucks really bad if you guys have to play 10 handed tomorrow, has that ever happened in the ME before (kevmath)? gl to those who survived or play tomorrow
In 2004, play on day 1 was eleven-handed.

IM guessing day 1D will have the most people playing in it. GL to those of you who survived to day 2 and if you are going to play today. let us know how you are progressing with those updates

What a complete cluster****. The only fair thing to do, which will never be done, is to assign people to the Day 1s randomly and cut off registration prior to Day 1A beginning (or at the end of the first level, whatever). In terms of suggestions that might actually be implemented, they should cut back to 3 Day 1s. Also, all Day 1s should be played 10-handed since the last Day 1 is probably always going to be too big to be played 9-handed.

this is actually really tilting that i have to play 5 levels of 10 handed poker vs people who played 4 or 5 levels of 9 handed poker, thats such a huge advantage in hands played that day 1a-1c people actually have a substantial edge going into day 2

Nobody forced anyone to play on 1D instead of 1A
07-06-2009 , 01:36 PM
in previous years they would have stopped reg'ing day 1d at 1500 and made the others get to like 1200+ before reopening it. like the one thing they've punted.

no one said 1D would be 10-handed when the other days were 9-handed either. be dumber

I would think it has to be some sort of gaming code violation to play 1 day 10-handed while everyone else gets to play 9-handed?
07-06-2009 , 01:44 PM
IF they go 10-handed today, wouldn't they just take away the 10th chair after the first elimination at a given table to get to 9-handed as quickly as possible?

erm most of us have a better ROI playing 5 levels of 10 handed compared to 4 levels of 9 handed, 9 and 10 handed is not such a significant difference compared to the increased number of hands we would get in playing until 1am or whatever.

Ohhh **** that was you? I was seat 3, you play really well.

This hand would be a LOT funnier if you saw that he mucked TT because you're not shoving without QQ+. Yes, he called the 4k with 6k back and showed me TT as he folded the 5 high flop.

Lol live poker.

maybe, but no one got eliminated at my table for the first three levels or something (and he was the only one eliminated all day)

I'll be surprised to the point of astonished if it isn't. Can't really see Harrahs turning away $600 a head for some liberal commie **** like keeping the game fair for everyone :-)

So, someone has done the math and figured out they can't accommodate today's registrants without going to 10? If they're opening Buzios, etc., it seems like 9-handed has a shot, but I guess I'll know within the next hour.

I haven't done the math no ... I didn't do the math on the Limit Shootout either, so if you're right that'll be 1-1 ;-)

Technically I probably should have said that I'll be surprised if they turn anyone away when they have no more tables, while keeping existing tables 9-handed.

is it that hard to pre-register one day in advance... for as smart as you guys are at poker, some fail at the common sense of being unlazy and registering one day early.. dear lord
